Will there be a rehearsal dinner?
Yes! The night before (June 18, 2026) there will be a rehearsal dinner on the island at Madame Sousou. All wedding guests are invited and welcome to attend. (Dinner/drinks will be provided by us!)
When should I arrive on the island?
This is completely up to you. For travel purposes, we are encouraging guests to plan to arrive by June 17th.
What’s the dress code?
Cocktail attire. This will be outdoor in June. Light and airy clothing is recommended for comfort. Men may want to consider linen suits.
Are kids invited?
This will be an adult only occasion.
Will there be alcohol at the wedding?
Duh. There will be welcome drinks and an open bar at the reception.
Where can I get a passport?
Most libraries or post offices can assist with this. Please make sure your passport is valid for up to 6 months after the date of the wedding.
Where should I stay?
Santorini has tons of amazing cities! Potential locations:
Fira is the capital and has plenty to do.
If you want to stay close to the wedding venue look in Megalochori. Venue is El Viento in Megalochori
Oia has been heavily recommended to us by people who have vacationed in Greece.
Pyrgos Kallistis - a good central ground and supposed to be a little less touristy.
*update* We have booked our stay in karterados, which is close to Fira!
Flights?
If you fly out of Ohio it is not a direct flight to Greece. For a direct flight you will need to fly out of Chicago, New York, or Canada. All flights land in Athens, Greece. There is a ferry in Athens to get to Santorini, it’s about a 3-4 hour ferry. You could also take a small plane over to Santorini from Athens as well.
How to book stays?
Air bnb has a ton of great options! I have been told by some hosts that they do not open their booking for 2026 until October 2025. But we were able to reserve ours already.
There are also villas you can reserve with others. If you’d like this option let us know and we can start a group chat with those that are also interested in this option.
Currency?
The currency in Greece is the Euro. It is recommended to exchange your money beforehand. We have been told the best time to do this is in the winter. Your bank should be able to assist with this. A credit card with no foreign transaction fees is also a great option.
Transportation
Public transportation is normally readily available. Although there are rental car agencies on the island, which is another great option. Wedding transportation on the day of the wedding will be arranged by us. If renting a vehicle, you may want to check with your accommodation to make sure there is a place to park.
What to bring?
We will try to update this as we think on things.
-US to Greece power adapter (the outlets in Santorini are different than standard US outlets)
