Joe and Destynee met in 2015 at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. It only took 5 years for them to finally take the leap. In November 2020 they began dating.

They love to go hiking, kayaking, and traveling. They climbed 4 mountains together (Mount Cardigan in NH, Mount Manadnock in NH, Gorham Mountain in ME, and Bradbury Mountain in ME). In February 2021 they went snowmobiling in Lincoln, NH. In July 2021 they went to the Grand Canyon and hiked the Bright Angel Trail. In March 2022 they explored Acadia National Park. In October 2022 they went to Iceland. While in Iceland they went snorkeling between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

In April 2023, Joe and Destynee moved to Maine. They have spent their time exploring different trails near them and kayaking the royal river. They found a small mountain (Bradbury Mountain) near their house and have hiked it a few different times. On July 6, 2023, Joe proposed to Destynee on that small mountain.
