What is "Barberstock"?

Barberstock is a love-fueled festival born from a decade of chasing down music and magic together. We’ve found that live music and easygoing, good-time energy have a way of bringing people together like nothing else, so we wanted to bring that same spirit to our wedding. Picture three killer bands, good eats, games, and soul-soaked vibes — all in the heart of where the famous 1969 Woodstock festival once rocked the world, just eight miles down the road. It’s a celebration of music, love, and the beautiful people (that’s you!) who’ve been part of our journey. It’s a wedding, yes — but more than that, it’s a chance to celebrate life, connection, and the joy of just being together.

Why the tie into Woodstock?

Far out fact! Most people think the legendary 1969 Woodstock music festival happened in Woodstock, NY — but that’s actually a common misconception, man. Just weeks before the festival, the town passed a last-minute ordinance banning large gatherings (turns out not everyone was ready for peace, love, and half a million hippies). So the organizers packed up their dreams and took the show on the road to Bethel, NY, where it all went down on a dairy farm — just 8 miles from our home! So while our wedding may not have Hendrix or a mudslide (hopefully), it’s got that same Catskills spirit: community, good vibes, and a little rebellion.

What should I wear?

Dressy casual! Think cool (but warm), cosmic, and comfortably chic! Express yourself, have fun with it, and please rock sensible shoes for groovin’ on the grass. Layers are your friend... it’s autumn in the Catskills! And no sweat — we’ve got a coat check ready for when you wanna ditch your layers and get your groove on. (But warm) dressy casual - dress for your fav concert or in your fav attire. Embody Stevie Nicks. Guys, Chris is not wearing a tie. There are no rules at Barberstock.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open @ 3:30 & the 1st band starts at 4 — come on over, grab some food and drinks, and settle in. The wedding ceremony starts between 4:30 and 5, so just show up relaxed and ready to celebrate.

How long is the ceremony?

Our goal is somewhere between "deeply moving" and "did that even happen?" Chris' brother Andrew still holds the record at a tight 12 minutes, and while we can’t promise to beat him, we are keeping things short, sweet, and meaningful. No filler, no fluff, no medieval rituals we don’t understand — just the good stuff.

What is the parking situation?

No parking at the homestead — but worry not! We've got a shuttle looping from Resorts World Casino, Hampton Inn & Best Western all day. If you're not staying at one of these rad hotels or just want to drive your own whip, there is parking across the road at our incredible neighbor’s place. Just follow the vibes (and the signs)!

WHERE & WHEN DO I FIND THE SHUTTLE BUS

SHUTTLE TIMES COMING SOON... The Barberstock Bus will make a loop between Resorts World, Hampton Inn, Best Western & Barberstock from around 3 pm until after the festival/wedding. Exact time & locations at the hotels TBD

Do you have a music line up?

Absolutely—We've got tunes lined up from "how did I end up crowd-surfing with a meatball sub in my pocket?"to "I just want to lay in the grass & watch the blades twerk" So yes, there will be music… & then some. The Slippery Chickens, Original Rockabilly, 4-6 pm - Far Beyond Gone, Rock & Roll Classics, 6:30-8:30 - Dead Man's Waltz, Fusion of Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers & The Band, 9-11pm

11pm is way past my bedtime. Will anyone be upset if I irish exit early?

Absolutely not! The shuttle will run till after the last band melts your face. You're free to bounce whenever you want. In fact, we encourage you to leave if you're not into a late-night good time with the best music on earth. That's on you bro!

I hear there will be a lot of firemen attending Barberstock so it will be super safe, right?

Yes & No! The firemen are basically the bride and groom’s second family — and yes, they’re just as heroic, hilarious, and slightly unhinged as you’re imagining. They have spent their lives saving others in very intense situations, and they love to party with the same level of intensity. If it looks like they’re getting a little out of hand... they probably are. But don’t worry — stay calm, give them space, and let them regulate themselves. It’s kind of their thing (They’ve had a lot of practice).

What is the weather like in Monticello, NY in October?

It’s fall in the Catskills, baby — crisp air, golden leaves, and temps anywhere from the high 40s to the mid-60s. Perfect for cozy layers, boots made for boogying, and dancing under the stars. Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of heaters and firepits to keep you warm!

Can I bring a plus one?

We’ve done our best to include as many loved ones as possible — and if your invite includes a plus one, we’d love for you to bring someone meaningful to you. Think partner, significant other, or someone you share real connection with. Barberstock is all about heart and harmony, like the spirit of Woodstock itself — and we want to fill the space with intentional, soulful energy.

Can I bring my young children?

We love your little wildflowers, but Barberstock is more of a grown-up garden party — think live jams, dancing under the stars, and a few (or a few too many) spirited sips. If bringing the kiddos is the only way you can join the fun, bring them along — we’d rather have you there than miss out. But if you can swing it, we gently encourage you to make it a night out for the parents — Peace, love, and babysitters

Can we crash at your place?

Totally! You're more than welcome to pitch a tent at our campground behind the pond.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD & DRINK

Barberstock will have a groovy variety of food & drinks, but if you have a dietary restriction or just want to be different, feel free to bring your provisions.

As the wedding is outside, are there bathrooms?

Yes. Real ones or fancy portables, depending on your definition of luxury. Either way, we got you.

Are we eating outside too?

Yep. It’s nature’s dining room. We promise it’s not a picnic where you’ll be fending off raccoons, but we also can’t rule anything out 100%.

IS THERE AN AFTERPARTY?

Unofficially, yes! However, the shuttles' last run back to the hotels will be after the final band finishes rocking out. If you want to stay later for DJ DevO's Late Night Set, you will have to arrange transportation back to your abode....or sleep in the yard (either is totally acceptable). ** UPDATE - We are trying to secure late-night travel arrangements. Standby for details! **

i heard you have a POND? IS IT STOCKED?

Yes, with Largemouth & Brim (or sunnies, as the Yankees up here call them). If you're an avid fisherperson & want to bring your own tackle & wear em out, go for it! If you're a fairweather fishman & want to use our Walmart gear, that's fine too. Devan says no night fishing - attorneys... whomp whomp.

WHAT's UP WITH THE POND? CAN I TAKE A DIP?

Highly discouraged! Even after a drunken fireman does it anyway or throws his fireman brother into the drink, please resist the temptation. It will be dark, cold, muddy, & we have a snapping turtle the size of a small child living in there. Also, a word of caution, should you choose to take a dip, Devan will make you sign a liability waiver.

WILL FRANKY COCKAILS ATTEND BARBERSTOCK?

Our guess is as good as Trey's guess, who says he's never met the guy. If he does make an appearance, just remember, he's only a real danger to himself. It's best to watch the pandemonium unfold from a safe distance & avoid eye contact at all costs!

Will there be fireworks?

In typical overreaching New York State regulatory fashion, fireworks are illegal. Plus, firefighters & fireworks don't mix well (depending on your viewpoint). Why? Because deep down, there's a tiny, poor decision-making, pyromaniac in all of them. That said...
