Built in 1893, the botanical gardens are a great way to explore nature right from Shenley Park, walking distance from Oakland/University of Pittsburgh.
This museum holds some of the first whole dinosaur fossils ever found, including the first T-rex. There's a lot more in here than just fossils too.
Want to see some birds, or want to feed some penguins? Then the National Aviary is for you! This is a fun activity for an afternoon, and it's close to the North Shore with plenty of food options as well.
Great for young kids and kids at heart. There are new interactive exhibits every year, and is great for the whole family.
One of the few remaining historic inclines. Park your car at the bottom of the incline, and take a ride up to Mt. Washington. This is easily one of the best viewpoints in Pittsburgh.
