After a long day at work I had just grabbed Aden from school we were headed home to have dinner, shower and bed. It was cold and rainy and I was exhausted. Headed home we rode past Christ Lutheran School and the parking lot was packed they were having a girls basketball game. I had promised Aden that we would catch a game this season but I was not trying to do this on today. Aden begged me to go to the game so that he could see a friends daughter play. Aden would not let up he begged and begged for us to go to the game this day. As exhausted as I was I wanted to keep my word so we turned into the parking lot and walked into the gym to show support.

And this is when the love story begins.....I ask myself often who would have thought that on a cold November day 2 years ago I would have been in the same gym as my future husband.

During the game I noticed a bald guy eating popcorn on the front bleacher. He was dressed very nice and he just kept staring at me and a couple times we made eye contact. For Milton he says that it was love at first sight. For me it was not....although I thought to myself this man is handsome and I have never seen him before, I still was not interested and I for sure was not looking for a man. We watched the game and shortly after the game ended Aden and I left the gym in a hurry to get home and get some rest.

After the game Milton stated that he inquired about me often. As for me I did ask the next day who Milton was and I would make jokes to my friend and her husband about Milton but for me it was nothing more than jokes.

Milton says he worked hard to find me after that game. Milton stated that he would see me in traffic and when he would try to catch me, I would be gone. One day scrolling through Facebook Milton said that he saw a picture with me tagged in it and he said " I got her now" Milton hit me in the DM and I responded, well I put him on ice for a couple hours and then I responded. I can say that from that first DM we have talked every single day since. Every conversation has gotten better and better and this man has become by best friend. Since the time Milton has contacted me he has shown me what being Loved is really like. Milton has been very persistent and consistent and genuine, and he has shown me that what I thought never would exist Does in fact exist.

Although I was very nervous about being in another relationship, Milton made it clear that he was not going anywhere. Honestly, I wasn't going to let him get away from me either. I knew I was just as lucky as him and I found not only my best friend but my partner for life.

On a beautiful day in March 2024, Milton asked me to go for a weekend getaway in Chicago. It was a last-minute trip so I thought. Milton said we just need a break and a short get away is needed. I was stressed I literally threw a bag together and complained the whole way. Milton was so calm and very accommodating on this trip and made sure that I was able to relax.

On March 9, 2024, we got up and went to breakfast and we had plans for the evening. We drove to a location all to find out that he wanted to take me on a helicopter ride. I was shocked and scared to say the least, but this was so worth it. We flew over Chicago, and it was beautiful. The flight ended and to my surprise this is where Milton had planned a beautiful proposal I stepped out of the helicopter and a photographer was there and a large lit up Marry Me sign was in front of me and Milton on one knee with a beautiful ring. Milton made it very clear in his words that He wanted nothing more than for me and my son to be apart of his life forever. I will be the first to say that I never saw this coming on this trip.

I have definitely learned that True Love does exist and when you least expect it comes knocking on your door or in your DM.

If I have any advice to give to anyone it would be ....You better get up and go to that game your future my just be there
