The boat rental booth is part of Wellfleet Marine Corporation which is our family’s company (retail store, fish market, boat rental booth). We may or may not be open for rentals- depends on time of the year. If we are open, please note that we have a 10+ft tide here in Wellfleet. Listen to those who instruct you in the booth or you will beach your boat or will have to swim a long ways out to your anchored boat! Boating license is required (new state regulation.. probably a good thing!).

The Cape Cod rail trail goes throughout all of cape cod but this is your local place to start. You can walk or bike the trail. You can rent bikes at Idle Times Bike Shop Inc in Wellfleet.

Note: Please do NOT ride a bike on route 6… even if you see other tourists doing it. It is not safe and many people get hit by cars every year.

Park at the MacMillian Pier Parking Lot. Commercial street is a long stretch of stores, restaurants, bars, art galleries and a lot more. June is also pride month- you can look at events happening in June on the Provincetown town website. If you walk down the MacMillian Pier, there are little shops open. Walk even further down the pier and you will spot Ben’s lobster boat F/V Dragon Lady!

Hatches Harbor Trail

Short but beautiful trail. Please be aware of ticks as there are a lot on Cape Cod in the summer time … If you park on the side of the road, you will not need to worry about a sticker to park. At the begining of the trail, if you go off to the left, you can hook onto province land bike trail which is a beautiful trail through the sand dunes (paved) which will take you to herring cove beach.

This is probably one of the most breathtaking views around. You will feel like you are in Egypt.. seriously! As your heading towards ptown, to the right you will see a very small 3 car parking lot which is where you enter to walk the dunes. The majority of people park on the side of the road. We reccomend wearing shoes that you can take off! Please follow the main trail as it is very easy to get lost out there.

Please note: The shellfishermen and women in Wellfleet use Powers Landing Beach and Mayo Beach as a vehicle access point, do not set up shop where you see tire tracks! If you do go swimming at any of the bayside beaches- where there are yellow buoys, there are shellfish grants. Stay out of the yellow buoys as there are metal racks, cages and other gear that you can get injured by.
