Devon's Version
Chandler and I met freshman year of college at Auburn. The first day of our technology and civilization class, Chandler and I sat near each other and I thought he was cute, but I also had a boyfriend. That year we became friends and would crack jokes with each other during class and during a seminar Chandler ("very smoothly") asked for my snapchat. After that class we went our separate ways and did not talk again until the following year when I reached out to him during his co-op. There was an instant connection between us and eventually he asked me to be his girlfriend, to which I said yes. The next morning I broke up with him. What he did not know was that I was getting cold feet because I knew how much I liked him already and it scared me to death. We were broken up for less than 24 hours, and that night I decided to change my mind and luckily he took me back. From that day on we have been inseparable and with every day that passes I fall even more in love with him. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us and I appreciate everyone who has been supporting us on this journey.
Chandler's Version
Devon and I met in Tech and Civ 1 during both of our first semesters at Auburn. Due to strategic seating choices by my part, we also sat near enough to each other to get to know each other and talk before and after class. Sometimes during class too… fun fact, this class was my second worst grade during my time at Auburn (I wonder why). Eventually, after a few weeks of class, I built up the courage to ask for her snapchat (by handing her my phone with the “Add Friends” screen open). I thought that this would let us get to know each other outside of class, but all of my attempts were ignored and “left on read” for basically an entire year. However, after the year had passed, Dev reached out. We got to hanging out and formed a strong connection immediately. Fast forward a few weeks, and one night I managed to convince her to be my girlfriend – a change in status that I was ecstatic for… for about 12 hours. The next morning, she tells me that she had made a mistake and wanted to go back to being friends. Luckily, she only felt this way for a couple of hours, and we were back together before the day was over. From then on, we have shared all of our highs and lows, from both near and far, but always together. It has been a blessing to go through life, and to continue to go through life, with someone as selfless and generous as Devon, and every day I appreciate and love her more and more.
