Our Story

& We may never know..

Picture of & We may never know..

exactly what it was that day .. maybe it was the look in our eyes, or the way we said hello, or maybe it was that heart racing moment when our souls connected.. but without words we knew- it wasn’t by mistake. Of course then we didn’t know that we’d have wound up here, healthy, happy, sober and together as one .. but we knew that there was just something different about the way we were. Something different about the way we talked and the way we laughed. There was just something different in our hearts after that day.
Truth be told, We both spent a good chunk of our lives before hiding, running, and chasing to fill the deep void we felt inside, yet never being able to escape the darkness that was consuming us. When finally our paths crossed! We exchanged a few flirtatious words but didn’t spend too much time together, but we both felt the chemistry- It was undeniable. A few years passed and life brought us back together. When we saw each other again, we didn’t know it at the time, but something was at work. Quickly we became best friends, our connection grew& grew- we became inseparable. We both knew there was no going back, and decided to give this friendship we began another title. Soon we realized we needed to make a change, we needed to give ourselves a genuine chance at a better life and a happier future. We made a pact together that we would love, encourage & support each other on this path forward. We over came many obstacles together and our bond just grew stronger each day. (I know our friends and family can attest to the huge relief that brought.)
That moment will forever be a major milestone in our relationship, and we’re not ashamed of any of it. We’re proud of our story and our progress! We’re so blessed to have gone through what we did and to be where we are today. We have helped each other heal in so many ways. We’re no longer searching, struggling to fill the hole inside- we are finally whole! We found our missing piece!
One sunny day jay and I were having a disagreement while walking down the street, I turned around because i realized he had stopped answering me, and when I turned around there he was, on the side of the street down on one knee, and asked me “to marry him one day” and gave me a promise ring. People who were driving by were honking and yelling out the window “Say yes, say yes!” Which of course I did! In that moment, I knew I’d found my forever.
Fast forward a bit, We found out we were going to be brining another little one in to this world. We couldn’t have been happier or more excited. everything was going great. Our bond had become this amazingly strong and stable rock- unbreakable, unshakeable, undeniable and resilient! Jay decided it was time to give our relationship another new title- fiancés!
On a misty raining evening in January, Jay and I took the kids to the “Harry Potter experience”. We were walking the beautifully light and decorated trail, when we were passing a gorgeous little gazebo and Jay asked me to come and check it out. As I stepped into the gazebo and turned around, Jay was down on one knee and purposed! I, of course, said yes!
Forward some more, our babygirl was born and it was one of the best moments of our life. Being able to write this here today with a genuinely happy and sober mind is one thing i will never take for granted. Honestly, I don’t know where we would be today if we hadn’t grabbed each other by the hand and pulled each other up and out of the darkness. I thank god everyday to be where I am, with this man and our families by our side.
We could not be more thrilled for this next chapter of our life together to begin, and are so excited to celebrate our true love with our family and friends on 3.22.25!
