Like many modern love stories, theirs began with a swipe—right, of course on Hinge. Devon’s profile caught Liam’s eye (especially the golf photo). After a few messages, Devon asked Liam to see if he'd want to meet for their first date at a golf range.
A few days later, they met at Lake Hodges Golf Range in Escondido. What Liam thought would be a cute golf outing quickly turned into a humbling experience—Devon turned out to be way better at golf than he expected. Let’s just say he was surprised, impressed, and maybe a little smitten by her swing.
After their golf session, they headed across the street to On the Border for Mexican food and endless conversation. They talked until the restaurant closed—and have been talking, laughing, traveling and growing together ever since.


From that moment on, they've been inseparable, sharing laughs, adventures, and plenty more golf dates over the next few years.
The next chapter in their story was written while they were on a Caribbean cruise with Liam’s family. During a day in Grand Turk, they went on a snorkeling excursion that would turn out to be much more than just a day at sea. After spending some time in the water, the boat stopped on a private beach, where everyone was invited to take an hour to relax.
Devon, enjoying the turquoise waters, had no idea that Liam had a secret plan in motion. As the captains started calling everyone back to the boat, Liam hurriedly asked Devon if she wanted to walk down the beach for a bit. Confused but excited to spend time together, Devon wrapped herself in a towel and followed him.
As they walked, Liam began to say some very sincere things, and that's when Devon started to suspect something was about to happen. Before she knew it, Liam dropped to one knee and pulled out a beautiful diamond ring. Both of them were overcome with emotion, tears of joy streaming down their faces. Without missing a beat, Devon said Yes! and the crowd on the boat erupted in cheers.
And so, here they are on what would be 5 years to the day of when they met—about to start the next chapter of their lives together, forever.
