Sometimes, the best things in life happen to us when we aren’t even looking. Three years ago, two of the most unlikely people became fast friends. Laughing about ridiculious moments the day led us through or debating over what restaurants have the best pizza. Emily spent many hours talking to Devon during, what seemed to be, endless hours of nightshift bordem and Devon was always good for entertaining Emily while she’d be working countless hours on site at shows.

The day we met changed it all. We hung out in our finest gym clothes at Emily’s house and finally settled the great pizza debate…..which was not the Chanellos pizza we had that day lol! We spent several hours talking and laughing like we had known each other all our lives. But the most important part was the goodbye hug on the porch. Because that was THE MOMENT that changed everything forever.

Emily knew the most important people in Devon’s life are her children. Emily plotted and planned and between her and the kids came up with the entire thing! So on a calm Monday evening, Emily asked Devon to come talk on the porch. There was a huge pile of stuff on one of the chairs from Emily’s car and Devon almost sat on it!!! After some conversation Emily said to look under the pile for a surprise…..there was a box of my favorite, CUPCAKES! When Devon opened the lid, there it was…”Will you marry me written on the lid and Emily holding the ring that her and my kids picked out.

Life has so many loops and turns. Where someone thinks a path will lead, all of a sudden it splits to the left or sends you screaming downhill. It’s a wild ride and we couldn’t be more lucky or thankful to do this ride together.
