Devyn and Alex’s journey began on January 5, 2016, in the cozy cafeteria of Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette, MI. It was there that Alex’s mom, Mikki, made the introduction after she and Devyn formed a friendship over several months. At that time, Devyn was working as a nursing assistant, caring for Alex’s beloved Great Grandmother, Audrey.

Great Grandma Audrey will always hold a special place in their hearts, as she was the one who brought them together. Just a day after meeting Devyn, Alex left for a six-month study abroad program in Spain. Upon his return, their connection blossomed into a beautiful relationship. With only a year left in their respective university programs, the couple frequently traveled between Marquette and De Pere. Their love deepened with every hike through the stunning Marquette trails, sweet post-game kisses after St. Norbert Football games, and late-night laughs over beers at the Long Branch Saloon.

After graduation, Devyn and Alex moved to the East Lansing area, where Devyn pursued her passion for medicine at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, while Alex began his career with the Michigan State Legislature. In 2020, they welcomed a new member to their family: Curtiss (affectionately known as The Dawg), their spirited aussiedoodle who fills their lives with joy.

Now residing in Lansing, Devyn is completing her residency at McLaren Greater Lansing, while Alex continues his work in the legislative arena. Exciting changes are on the horizon as the couple plans to relocate to the Houghton area later this year, ready to embrace their next adventure together.
