Our Story

Our Story..

The first time we met was at a Zach Bryan concert. We both showed up very late and just happened to be walking in from the same parking lot at the exact same time. We were with our own groups of friends, and as we crossed paths, Devyn said a quick hello before rushing into the concert. Stratton, however, wasn’t about to let that moment pass—he ran up and stopped her to ask for her phone number. She remembered thinking he was handsome, but it all happened so fast!

About a week later—after she had totally forgotten about that brief encounter—Devyn received a text. From that moment on, we couldn’t stop talking. Even though Stratton was away on a fire assignment out of state, he made every effort to get to know her (which she was very impressed by!). After about a month and a half of texting, we finally agreed to meet in person for our first date… at the gym! Since that day, we’ve been literally inseparable.

Our love grew stronger every day, and eventually, Devyn was the first to say “I love you.” We both knew early on that we were meant for each other, and we made the decision—together—to follow and serve our Savior, Jesus Christ. Taking that leap of faith was the best decision we’ve ever made. Through it, we’ve grown not only as a couple, but also as individuals. That’s also when conversations about marriage and stepping into a covenant with Christ began to take shape.

Now for the good stuff… Fast forward eight months to the proposal—yes, we had two! The first happened at a Christian event in Texas. Stratton proposed with a $25 crown necklace, saying that God had placed it on his heart to follow Him in this decision. He got down on one knee in front of a large crowd with that necklace, one single rose, and asked her to marry him. It was the most beautiful and meaningful moment—especially knowing it was Spirit-led and came from the heart.

Two days later, on May 4th, 2025—his birthday—he proposed again. This time, surrounded by his family and with hers on the phone, he asked her to marry him with a beautiful ring, symbolizing our commitment. It was incredibly special, intimate, and personal, and we are so blessed to have experienced that twice.

We are beyond excited to celebrate our beautiful union in Christ with all of you on May 3rd, 2026.

With love,
