Our Wedding

Our love story started just like any other, in a magical place, where all your dreams come true ...... work! ;) Haha. We met in 2016, when Nick started his first job at the same company I was working at. Long story short - I slid into his e-mails, and the rest was history! We had our first real date at Zaza's in St. Charles, followed by a walk down the Fox River (important detail for the story!). Few months later, we were officially dating because Nick basically told me I was his girlfriend, and how could I resist ;) We became very close very fast. We built our relationship on honesty, trust, and open communication. I think we both can say, we trust each other more than words can express, and wow what an incredible feeling! Anywho! Back to our story, that's what you are really here for. Fast forward one year and we are being approached by work to transfer to our LA Branch, yepp, you guessed it - we moved to California! We spent 3 years there, building on what we started. California and the whole experience truly brought us closer than ever before - we were the only ones there to lean on, and to yell at ;) If there was a hard time - you can't run to mama's house - you have to toughen up and communicate! We were there for each other every step of the way, when someone was down, the other picked up the slack. We make sucha great team! After 3 years, we moved back HOME! That brings us to September 2020. We found ourselves the the cutest apartment in St. Charles. It felt so good to be back, even though, some people may say we are crazy for coming back to the Midwest - I agree! What the heck are we doing here?! ;) Haha! We missed our families terribly, so it was the right choice to make. Plus - I thought it was time for an engagement (hint hint!). We made our apartment into a home, hosted our first cousins Christmas party - don't worry I will keep it PG, and got to spend loads of time with family &amp; friends! July 2021 rolls around and I smelled something in the air, no it was not my air fresheners. It was Nick... Nick was planning something! He was definitely acting a little suspect. He was definitely acting a little too sweet all week. He tells me we are going out to dinner for my brothers (Lukasz) birthday Friday, July 30th! Now I am definitely in my head! Friday comes, and we are driving to the restaurant - instead of turning left, Nick turns right and park wayyyy down the street from where we were meeting. Nick takes my hand and we start walking down on the river walk (remember the important detail I mentioned earlier!). I thought, this is it! Nick says, "Hey, what is that in the water - is that a leaf or banana peel?!" .... Seriously, my butterflies are going crazy, I think to myself - I am going to turn around and Nick going to be down on one knee. Well he wasn't. What is going on?! Well 20 seconds later, there he was - the man that found me, accepted me for me, loved me for who I am - down on one knee!!! Que the tears and shakes (for Nick). Nick said, "This is a long time coming _______" not sure what else, and then "Will you marry me?". I think I heard the most important part ;) Then I heard lots of clicking, someone was taking our pictures! To my surprise, it was Nicks best friend (Ben!). We had our own little photo session and it was the perfect way to start our journey to Mr. and Mrs. Once we arrived to the restaurant, I received another surprise! About 30 of our closest friends, and family were waiting to celebrate us! Wow - what a night! Definitely one to remember, or not! It's been an incredible past few months, celebrating our love. We feel so lucky to have found each other. We cannot wait to finally tie the knot and call each other husband and wife! Now lets all raise a glass to the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Chesky! #CheskyUntiliDi
