Our story starts on May 5th, 2021. A couple of my friends threw a major Cinco De Mayo party at their restaurant, and happened to bring in a mechanical bull for the party. I had never ridden one before, and I was 4-5 margaritas in, so I thought it would be a great idea to go for a ride. The next day I got a notification on my phone that I was tagged in one of his photos for his Instagram page. I thought it would be a slideshow of photos that was taken at the event, and that I was tagged in one of them. Turns out there was only one photo, and it was me, falling off the bull, and I looked pretty intoxicated. Her friend happened to tag her in that photo, saying they should go check the restaurant out. She recognized me in the photo, because we actually lived in the same building. Also, we really didn’t know one another, but had been following each other for a couple of years already. She then decided to slide into my DM’s (Sorry babe but that's how it happened. I love you ). We ended up hanging out in our community area in our apartment, and we ended up hitting it off really well. For a while there I was just her dog sitter, but then we became gym partners. Over time our relationship grew, and I knew that this was a woman I could be in a long term relationship with. We took our first trip together in September of 2021, and on September 4th, 2021 I asked her to be my girlfriend. For 3 years we worked on our relationship. There was a lot of growing we both needed to do, but together we grew, and towards the beginning of 2024 I knew this was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. So on October 15th, 2024 I asked this wonderful woman if she would be my wife. After hearing the word “yes” that was the day I officially became the luckiest man in the world.
I first met Harley at our old apartment complex. We’d cross paths in the hallways or the elevator, and he was always so friendly. Then came the famous Cinco de Mayo! A friend tagged me in a post asking if I had ever been to a restaurant called La Chingada… and guess who popped up again? Yep, Harley.
At that point, I started thinking about that old saying — if you keep seeing someone repeatedly, it's for a reason. So I clicked on his tag, and to my surprise, we had actually been following each other since 2016! Which is wild, because I don’t recall ever meeting him before 2021.
Eventually, I decided to reach out. Harley likes to say I “slid into his DMs,” and… well, I guess I technically did, but not like that! :) From there, we started talking more, hanging out, and even working out together. The connection was instant, genuine, and easy.
Fast forward to now, and I’m just incredibly grateful. I found someone who truly loves me, supports me, and rides along for all my wild, passionate ideas. Life has a funny way of bringing the right people into your path and I’m so glad it brought me to him.
