Words from the Bride & Groom

Our story started when we met on match.com. After a few emails and some phone calls, we decided to go on a date. Our first date was July 30th, 2011, at Black & Blue in Huntington. As a typical gentlemen, Jimmy offered to pick me up at my house. That didn't sit well with me. After all, the Gilgo Killer was still out there. So, I suggested we meet there. For those of you that know me, of course I told him that! In the back of his mind, I am sure he thought this one could be a bit nuts. For me, I didn't know him, and I always played it safe.

During our first date, he surprisingly found out that I do not have a love for the ocean or boats. He felt he was being misled, as my profile picture on match was of me, on Steve's boat, on our way to the July 4th fireworks at Jones Beach. At that time, Jimmy had a boat. His favorite vacations took place on a cruise, including the memory of when he escalated his mother from a slot player, where she found her fondness of blackjack, which continued onto the last cruise where she portrayed one hell of a Poker Face. He was a huge fan of fishing and anything related to water or sports. I had gone on, and will go on Steve's boat, but I will never commit to a boat cruise, or any type of water adventure of any kind!!! Needless to say he was a bit disappointed, as he was hoping to enjoy a cruise to somewhere.

Surprisingly, he was able to overcome my innocent, deceptive picture, and planned a second date. Since I was pretty sure he wasn't the Gilgo Killer, I allowed him to pick me up at my house. So, the following Saturday, I picked Mercato Kitchen in Massapequa on Merrick Road, knowing that I was close to home and could still take a cab if he turned out to show any signs. "You can never be too sure", I told him.

Our third date was planned a few weeks later at the Library in Farmingdale Village. Next, was a homemade meal. I decided on Tilapia, with Panko and Sushi Unagi sauce, as I knew he liked fish. Apparently I definitely made a good impression in the kitchen.

For me it wasn't until he helped me take down my Christmas decorations (along with my separately boxed 100+ Lenox ornaments. Which I asked him to tape 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch pictures of each ornament, onto the box it was taken from), that I knew he was the lid to my pot!!! He got a well-deserved, homemade dinner that night. His favorite, Chicken Parm and Spaghetti.

Jimmy knew after our second date, while the next morning, when driving to work at 7 am on Central Avenue in Valley Stream, he texted me "Good Morning Sunshine" and has texted me that every day since.

We are very excited for all of you to be a part of what we have planned for our special Wedding weekend. Feel free to extend your vacation, and enjoy all Woodloch has to offer.

Looking forward to everlasting memories with all of you.

Love,

Diane & Jimmy
