When choosing our wedding date, May 4th happened to be the date that worked the best for us, so while it was a coincidence, as Star War fans we absolutely loved the idea of May the Fourth Be With You. So, you can DEFINITELY expect Star Wars to appear at our wedding! Feel free to bring your light sabers, but dress code is typical wedding attire, not cosplay/costumes.
Is the wedding actually at the West Point military academy?
Technically yes. The wedding is at the historic Thayer Hotel, which is on West Point grounds. All guests over the age of 16 will need to show a photo ID at the gate. Acceptable forms of identification are a valid driver's license, US passport, school ID (must be school-age), or permanent resident card. Just let them know you are visiting the Thayer Hotel and they will guide you through - it is the building on the hill to the right as you enter.
How do I get to the Thayer Hotel?
For directions to West Point, New York, please see the Travel section of our website.
Is there parking onsite?
Valet parking is complimentary and available 24 hours. Guests may pull up to the hotel and have their vehicle parked for them, or guests may self-park and receive golf cart assistance from the parking lot. Hotel parking for all guests is at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. Designated Handicap Parking spaces are allotted in the front of the hotel entrance; the valet can assist you with unloading and parking your vehicle.
Will there be an open bar?
Hell yes! Please drink responsibly. 😊
What if I have a dietary restriction?
If you have a dietary restriction, please let us know when you RSVP. We will inform the venue to accommodate your needs.
Are children welcome?
Of course! Please reach out to us if you need any accomodations.
Are there hotel accomodations?
We have booked a block of rooms at a discounted rate at The Thayer Hotel. Please see the Travel section of our website for more information.
Is there breakfast the day after the wedding?
For those who are spending the night at Thayer and nearby hotels, we will have a farewell breakfast in the Pershing Room at the Thayer. Please indicate on your RSVPs if you will be attending the breakfast, since we need a head count.
