Not only is this our venue but it is a working museum! On sight you will be able to tour the grounds, see the historic Pullman Car, meander on the extensive walking trails and even visit the animals that call Hildene home. The Hildene not only has its own on-site maple syrup production but also its own goats and cheese!
Feeling bookish? Manchester has you covered! Located right in the center of downtown you will find the original location of the Northshire Bookstore. With two stories of books and a small cafe you can spend all day in its cozy nooks and crannies being whisked away to other places through the pages of the thousands of books they have to offer. Just make sure to leave in time to come to the wedding!
Does shopping fit your fancy? We've got you covered there too! Manchester Center Designer Outlets are all walking friendly and have everything from clothing, to icecream (shout out to Vermont's Favorite Guys: good ol' Ben and Jerry and the Northeast kid's favorite: Stewarts), to outdoor sports and souvenirs. Downtown is your place to go. Public parking lots are available.
** If you are like Dianna and feel at home in your kitchen, Vermont Kitchen Supplies has everything you could need and more.
This is our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE eatery in Manchester. It not only boasts fantastic homemade breads and cookies, their kettle chips are also made in house and per Greg are "ABSOLUTE SMACK!" (Decoding that for those out there who don't speak "Greg," it means crazy good and we aren't sorry if you eat the whole bag they give you. They offer a wide selection of sandwiches and wraps to satisfy any craving and can accommodate gluten sensitivities.
FYI: their parking lot is small so if you can't find parking, we suggest that you park next door or utilize a public lot and walk. It isn't far.
Staying the weekend? Want an outdoor place to eat that is a three generation certified organic farm with a woodfired bakery? This is the place for you! Check their website for hours.
Are you a weekend warrior? Do you hear the winds and waters calling your name?? If that is the case, try Big Big on the Battenkill and add some kayaking to your weekend itinerary.
If you are a hunter, fisherman, or just a general outdoorsy type of person, Manchester has the flagship store for Orvis right in town. It has everything you could want and an indoor pond. Also, down the road is the Orvis outlet store if you want to score a deal.
