January 21, 2025 8:00 am At the Devgon - Diksha's parents and family perform a pre-wedding ceremony based on Kashmiri traditions. It blends spiritual purification with familial support, guiding the bride as she embraces her new role. In this Kashmiri ritual, Diksha's family pour water, rice, milk, and yogurt through a veil held over her head, sanctified through mantras. Diksha's maternal uncle plays a key role in this ceremony and gifts her with a new set of clothes and jewelry. Diksha is officially a "bride" after the Devgon rituals.

January 21, 202511:00 am The Mehndi ceremony, also known as the Henna ceremony, is a pre-wedding ritual which involves applying intricate designs to the bride and all women. The Haldi ceremony is another traditional pre-wedding event and ritual celebrated one day prior to the wedding day and is usually a close-knit event. Family, relatives and friends will come together on this auspicious occasion to apply turmeric paste (haldi) on Pranav's face and arms. This function draws many parallels with Diksha's Devgon ceremony earlier in the day. Haldi is renowned for cleansing and purifying couple's body before they enter into holy matrimony. Additionally, it&nbsp;symbolizes the happy start of a new life together.

January 21, 20257:30 pm Everything you have seen in a Bollywood movie is about to become reality. This evening will begin with a friendly dance-off between Diskha's and Pranav's sides, but then will end with an open dance floor where everyone is the winner! You, yes YOU, will be dancing - but don't worry we have you covered. We're preparing an easy choreography for you to follow, and know that in whatever breaks you get between events up until this evening, you will probably be practicing your moves with your dance group.

January 22, 20259:30am All the pre-wedding events are leading up to this event - the Wedding. This will be a rich mix of both Kashmiri and Punjabi traditions, with the priest incorporating rituals that are of importance to both cultures. The Wedding ceremony will start with a Barat where Pranav's friends and family will bring a lively procession to the venue. The wedding ceremonies will go on for a few hours and will end with a traditional vegetarian lunch. Just a heads up that this event starts early-ish in the morning (after a late night at the Sangeet), so make sure you are hydrating pretty well the night before!

January 22, 20258:00 pm Diksha, Pranav and their parents will welcome all friends and family to a formal dinner to celebrate their big milestone. This is an opportunity for you to socialize with the newlyweds. Light entertainment, food, drinks and great company will make the last event of the wedding celebrations a memorable one.

We would love for our guests to be dressed in traditional Indian attire so you're able to have an immersive experience at wedding. At an Indian wedding, the safest bet to wear at any event is a&nbsp;Salwar suit&nbsp;for women and a&nbsp;Kurta Pajama&nbsp;for men. It is also very easy to get lost in the world of traditional Indian wear, so we've tried out best to put together a vision board for potential outfit choices for each event. These are recommendations only, so please feel free to explore and be creative with your outfit choices as you deem appropriate. Just to be clear - While we provide recommendations for Indian attire, you are welcome to dress in what you are most comfortable with. If you are arriving into India a little earlier, you will have a plethora of options where you can buy ready-to-wear / off-the-shelf Indian attire. However, if you don't want to leave things till the last minute - you can use the links at the bottom of this page to browse for outfits and shop for them online. Some of them may have long delivery timelines, so please feel free to explore and put in your orders in advance.

All The Culture and Colors!

The Devgon and Haldi are going to be held outdoors and will be casual pre-wedding events. They will include several Kashmiri and Punjabi pre-wedding traditions, where Indian or any casual colorful attire is recommended. Some pictures for inspiration:

As Bollywood as it gets! This event is solely for the fun song and dance - make sure your outfits are jazzy/shiny, while also allowing you to dance and shake a leg. Women can opt for a Lehenga (voluminous floor-length skirt) paired with a top or an Anarkali suit (floor-length dress). Men can wear a Kurta with a Nehru Jacket (Indian Waistcoat) or a formal suit. Sangeet - Indian Formal Attire

The bride wears red or pink! This is your chance to embrace a very traditional Indian look and explore a color of your choice (except black). For women, a Lehenga or Saree would be appropriate, although it is better to buy a pre-stitched/pre-draped saree (available online) so you do not turn to the Saree Tutorial YouTube gods to wear it last minute. Men can opt for pastel color Kurtas and dress it up with a waistcoat OR if you're down to indulge in South-indian clothing - try out a Dhoti with a silk shirt. Some pictures for inspiration:

Wedding - Indian Traditional Attire

This is an evening event being held both indoors and outdoors. For women, a cocktail dress, evening gown or any other formal Indian dress mentioned above should be appropriate. Men can opt for suits, tuxedos or any formal Indian dress.

There are a few cultural sights in the city which would not take more than a day to visit. Bangalore is also the microbrewery capital of the country and houses some of the best microbreweries! One of the best ones is close to the wedding venue!Many massage, sauna and other relaxing options will be available at any of the 5 star hotels in the city, including the one where the wedding is being hosted!If you are transitioning through Delhi or Mumbai, you could plan to spend a day there to take in the cities. Bangalore and Surrounding Areas Mysore: 3 hour drive from our wedding venue, an overnight trip to Mysore works best! The old capital city of Karnataka has great historical significance and has a nice palace, a part of which is open for public viewing.Kabini: 5 hour drive from Bangalore, this town houses more than 90 Tigers and 100 leopards in one of the most densely populated Tiger Reserves in the country!Chikmagalur or Coorg: 5 hour drive from Bangalore, these hill stations are part of the coffee belt in the country. If you like some peace and quiet in your vacation, get here!Hampi: 6 hour drive from Bangalore and, considering the long trip, 2 nights make the most sense here. You will find a lot of ancient temples and historical monuments here. You could also reach Hampi by a short 1 hour flight from Bangalore! Two-Three Day Trip Goa: An hour's flight from Bangalore, Goa is a beautiful place to relax and the beaches will be great this time of the year! This however makes them busy so recommend you book your stay in advance. Think of an easterly Miami! While North and Central Goa are packed with more public beaches, you will find that South Goa is less crowded with good beaches. Goa is a bit of a historical location too - churches and influence of Portuguese culture everywhere. It's a safe city with a lot of good vibes and beaches!Kerala: Take a short flight from Bangalore to Cochin or Trivandrum and enjoy the backwaters in the house boat experience in India's southernmost state! A good place to chill and relax.&nbsp; Towards The North Reminder: January is the peak winter month and northern part of the country incld Delhi will be cold with minimum temperature around 40 degree F. Mumbai: An hour and a half's flight from Bangalore, 'Bombay' is the cultural, fun and entertainment capital of the country. You can find historical sites but the city's unique geography and architecture sets it apart. You will find loads of galleries, museums, eateries and a lot of ambitious people! You have the option of relaxing along the coast line in places such as Alibaug, Lonavala which are both a couple of hours from the city. Close to Mumbai is Nasik, which is slowly becoming the center for wine in the country.Delhi: India's capital city is culturally and historically significant. You could comfortably spend 3 days in Delhi visiting the monuments and eateries. Visiting the Taj Mahal 4 hours away in Agra could be a great overnight trip from here! 3+ Day Trip Delhi-Agra-Jaipur: You can fly into Delhi and travel by road to each of these places. One direct flight is also available 6 days a week between Bangalore &amp; Agra. The drive between these cities is smooth and you can stop by Fatehpur Sikri along the way which is a fantastic historical spot to see!Experience royalty in Rajasthan: Jaipur and Udaipur have direct flights from Bangalore, around 2.5 hours. Plan a trip there if you want to be treated as royalty while experiencing Indian culture, staying in palaces now converted into luxury hotels. However, do remember that royalty doesn’t come cheap so be prepared to blow a hole in your pocket. Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur can be traveled to on the road or flight once you visit Jaipur. Each of these cities is unique in their own ways, being the pink, blue and white cities with very different settings of lakes, deserts, etc. Points to Remember Major Indian Airlines are: IndiGo and Air India.Domestic flights in India have a 15kg (33lbs) checked bag and a 7kg (15lbs) hand luggage allowance.
