Dionne and Thomas met in April 2019 while Thomas was visiting the US. They stayed connected as friends through their love of maths, physics, and traveling.

Dionne got stuck in Sweden for 2.5 months while visiting Thomas during the pandemic. Shortly after, their friendship turned into a relationship.
