A Baraat is the wedding procession that marks the groom's arrival. He is led by his family and relatives with lots of music and dancing along the way! The Baraat is followed by a Milni Ceremony which is an important ritual in Indian weddings that marks the union of two families. In this ritual, the bride’s family formally welcomes the groom’s family by exchanging garlands, sweets, and gifts.
What should I wear to the wedding?
Any formal attire is fine (Indian or Western). Indian outfits are not mandatory but completely welcome based on personal preference! Be sure to wear something comfortable you can dance in!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The Baraat (groom's procession) will start outdoors. The wedding ceremony will be indoors followed by cocktail hour and reception.
