The friend's mother&nbsp;introduced them and the two spent the rest of their night talking...

First Impressions

January 2012 - May 2013Not long after, their first date was at SoZo coffee. They spent a little over a year&nbsp;together&nbsp;singing&nbsp;at coffee shops, spending time with family, attending&nbsp;many high school dances,&nbsp;basketball games, and concerts;&nbsp;eating "good"&nbsp;food (pre-GF), &nbsp;and watching their favorite movies including&nbsp;Tangled, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Harry Potter...

Falling in love at a coffee shop

May 2013-2015In May of 2013&nbsp;they&nbsp;parted ways to focus&nbsp;on their friendships, school, and self growth.&nbsp;After about a year of not communicating&nbsp;they both attended NAU and were&nbsp;involved in&nbsp;choirs at the School of Music&nbsp;and events at the Newman center. Though MaryAnne believed that&nbsp;Dominic was following her, he reassured her he had his own reasons for attending NAU. They were -&nbsp;one would say -&nbsp;“acquaintances” for a about a year and a half ...

Acquaintances

&nbsp;January 2016-November 2017 In January,&nbsp;the two&nbsp;were hired to lead music at the Newman center.&nbsp;Their leadership together led to more&nbsp;music collaboration, and eventually friendship!&nbsp;A year later, Dominic was in a traumatic bike accident that gave&nbsp;both of them a new perspective and gratitude for the gift of life. They went on a choir tour shortly after and spent time together trying not to be “too obvious” about the potential spark.&nbsp; After the choir tour, they spent many more hours together as they recorded an original song, coordinated a spiritual retreat at the Newman center, did homework at the library, drank lots of coffee and made many trips to Sprouts until finally, on November 11, 2017,&nbsp; Dominic and MaryAnne started dating AGAIN...

Coworkers to Friendship to More Than

November 2018 MaryAnne moved to Phoenix for her last semester of college, and when she came to visit him,&nbsp;Dominic asked for her hand in marriage&nbsp;on&nbsp;November 12th, 2018.&nbsp; Here's how he did it: After going on&nbsp;a hike and eating a champion dinner (Tourist Home:&nbsp;her favorite place!), he took her to their favorite chapel with a view of both the San Francisco peaks&nbsp;and&nbsp;the city.&nbsp;While watching the sunset, he presented her with a&nbsp;scrapbook capturing&nbsp;all of their memories from high school to present day, leading up to a picture of&nbsp;the ring box on the last page...

The Proposal

Present DayCurrently, MaryAnne and Dominic&nbsp;are both in the Chandler/Gilbert area&nbsp;working full time and preparing for married, adult life. MaryAnne works full-time as music director at All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona. Dominic works two part-time jobs: one as music director for Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Tempe, Arizona;&nbsp;the other&nbsp;at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School as their technology teacher. In addition, both are members of a new musical group,&nbsp;the band Ezekiel,&nbsp;recording and performing music around the valley.&nbsp; Thank you for reading our story :)&nbsp;Here's to the here and now, and may God bless yours and our future.
