Tyler and Dominique met on Bumble. Yes the dating app. If it wasn't for Dominique asking Tyler who his favourite football team was there might not even be this story. Their first date was at a coffee shop to study. Tyler was studying for his undergrad degree in sociology and Dominique was studying for her nursing license exam. After that they tested their skills with an escape room. With both of their stubbornness no they did not escape on time.

After that they moved in with only knowing each other for 3 weeks. Yes many people thought they were crazy but Tyler and Dominique knew they were the ones for each other right away. They started planning (well Dominique started planning, she must get her travel agent skills from her mother) their trip to California for that next February. Within their trip they went to Disneyland, California Adventure, multiple beaches, and to an LA Kings game at Staples Centre.

After their trip Covid-19 hit the world like a storm. Dominique had just started working at the U of A Hospital and Tyler was working at a home for at risk youth. With the lock down their relationship was truly put to the test. Many hours playing games and watching movies. Once summer hit they planned a two week trip to Kalamalka lake to visit Dominique's grandparents. There all the family shared one house and really got to know each other. Many memories on the boat surfing, tubing, jumping off cliffs, hiking and most importantly her nan's 60th birthday party starting off with Christine's famous mimosa's. (DO NOT LET HER MAKE YOU ANY).

In January Tyler started online law school at a Bond University in Australia. That was a big change for him. In May he started working at a new place called Robinhood Society which houses adults with disabilities and Dominique started one of her dream jobs on a Short Stay Surgery unit at the U of A hospital. Come summer Tyler and Dominique started talking about adopting a cat and with many conversations with Dominique's cousins Ryan and Jill Smith they adopted Charlie! Charlie was a true test to their relationship as he was a very high energy kitten that needed lots of cuddles and toys.

After getting Charlie, Tyler had stolen Dominique's whole heart and they started looking at engagement rings. Dominique thought for sure it would happen around Christmas time, it did not. They went to Las Vegas and again it did not. Dominique thought maybe for Valentines day, it did not. Dominique was very confused and had no idea what Tyler had cooking up his sleeves.

Okay so finally the day has come. Tyler has decided that it is time to ask for Dominique's hand in marriage. Tyler went and saw Sean and asked for permission to marry his daughter. He phoned Angela and asked her as well. The day has finally come.. March 12th, 2022. The plan was to write a love note and leave it on the side table of the bed with a coffee and the ring there. However, Dominique in true "Dramanique" nature woke up and had a meltdown. Tyler had to quickly change his plans. His second plan was to take Dominique down by the river valley and propose there, however again Dominique had other plans.. she had booked a massage. After messaging Christine and making a third plan to cook dinner and do it that way Dominique in true fashion again disrupted the plans again by picking up overtime at the hospital and staying late. Now Tyler and Christine had to come up with plan D. Tyler and Dominique had plans to go to a movie that night and he didn't know if he should do it prior or after the movie or even at the movie theatre. With many nerves Tyler decided to do it after the movie once they got home. Once they got home from the movie Dominique went to feed Charlie and Tyler grabbed him and went to the room. Once Dominique came into the room she saw that Tyler had placed the engagement ring on the bed with Charlie cuddling it. At this point it was midnight and Tyler was exhausted from being up all day planning and stressing out that he went straight to bed. Dominique had tried phoning her family but no one was awake. The only person that was awake was Ryan Smith who was ecstatic. The next morning the first person to awake was Brooke (Dominique's sister) and she was very ready to start the wedding planning. Then Angela found out and the rest of the family started waking up and finding out.
