On May 21, 2023, there was a car show held at New Market Fire Department. Prior to attending, Dominique was told today is the day you're going to find your future husband. Unknowingly, it was the day that she met AJ.

With much courage and a puppy named Captain, AJ approached the girl who didn't like dogs.

Luckily, she was with Nicole who is an animal lover.

Little did AJ know at the time; Dominique noticed the little nudge given to Captain to snuggle up on her.

AJ asked Dominique for her phone number and for the rest of the day they walked around, toured the department, and Dominique experienced for the first time AJ going on a fire call, unknowing that this would be the first of many.
