It was the year of 2015 when it seemed that God really began working more and more on Donnie and Kayla. Shaping and healing their minds, hearts and souls for a new season.The following Spring of 2016, Kayla had reached out to Donnie through mutual friends in hope he had the extra tools to borrow. Donnie kindly allowed Kayla to borrow his tools. They made casual conversation and found they had lots of mutual friends and interests. The day they met in person, it was as if you can see hearts popping all around them. Donnie was attending Spokane Falls Community College close to Kayla's work. After class he had bought her a coffee and treat, truly a cute excuse just to say "Hi." They began courting each other for 6 months. The summer of 2016 they celebrated Kayla's 24th birthday and attended Donnie's best man's, Andy Lockett's, wedding; along with many awkward family camp trips. These two became inseparable and learned to respect one another for who they were and what they went through to become the person they are today. They wanted to encourage and watch one another achieve their personal goals in life. The spring of 2017, Donnie's mom was diagnosed with bladder cancer. She became ill very rapidly. Tracy and Rick Laabs opened their home and hearts to Kayla. As Tracy became weaker, house duties needed to be shared, Kayla stepped up and helped more than she gives herself credit for. Tracy passed August 20, 2017 and the family is doing the best they can as they pick up the pieces where she left off.Donnie and Kayla have been through the test of relational practices. It has helped strengthen their connections. Like the foundation of a home, it needs certain elements to complete the structure; or it well be unsafe and vulnerable to fall apart. As for all houses, they start with the foundation. And for all relationships it is an agreement to practice unconditional acceptance and unconditional love for themselves and for their significant other. A year into their relationship, Donnie planned an engagement. He had received his grandmother's wedding ring as a gift from his mother before she passed. The weekend of Donnie and Kayla's one year anniversary, he gracefully invited her to dinner. Keep in mind, this was not what he had planned when Donnie wanted to ask her to marry him. It was at sunset during their dinner, Donnie pulled out the box and handed Kayla the ring. She handed the ring back and in shock Donnie responded, "is this a no?" Kayla's eyes began to shed tears of joy, as she smirked and said "you have to put it on my finger." It couldnt have been better timing, as the waitress walks by and hears the amazing news. She quickly went back to the kitchen and brought back champagne to celebrate. Donnie and Kayla decided on a date shortly after and began telling family and friends. They wish for you to join them and celebrate a life happily ever after.

Andy and Donnie have known each other for over a decade.  They grew up building cars and going to college together. These two men have seen the worst and best of their lives but manage to maintain an unbreakable bond.

Sister of Bride.Laurin always been the bigger sister of the two, she was expected to grow up quick. She worked very hard and took on several jobs, from a server at a retirement home to creating her own business. Laurin married one of Kayla's very good friends Chris Crosby. They are now raising two beautiful kids, Dean(7) and Lacie (2). Laurin found her niche and became very creative with glitter, stickers and tutus. She built her own business two years ago when she became a stay at home mom. She kept herself busy by making handmade tutus while she cared for her daughter. Best friend of Bride.Denise and Kayla have known each other for 8 years. They have built a sisterhood that is unbreakable. Denise and Kayla met in 2009 working at their first job: Papa Murphy's. It wasnt until a couple months into Denise's hiring they went to grab dinner after work. Denise and Kayla spend a lot of time around a dinner table with family and friends. They love to being with their significant other and their dogs, Penny and TJ. They can always count on each others support and love when the world was trying to tear them down. We love you Denise &amp; Justin! Thank you for an amazing friendship.

Cousin of Bride.Kelsey and Kayla are 6 months and 14 days apart. They grew up close, dressing alike and playing on the tree house their grandfather built. Many spring breaks, summer vacations and winter closures where spent at their Grandparents house in Colfax, Wa. Kelsey and Kayla spent many Sunday mornings in Church, along with many camp trips and family road trips. Their memories together are endless.  Kelsey has married her best friend Johnathan Buri and raising three beautiful kids in their grandmothers old home. They both had dreams of keeping the house in the family and luckily Kelsey has made it into the perfect starter home for her family to grow up in. Kelsey and Jonathan, thank you for letting us into your home. Your hospitality is always warm and welcoming.

Friend of Bride.Alicia and Kayla met in 2012 attending Spokane Falls Community College. They had an English class together. Lets just say the class wasnt what brought them together, but the disagreement they had with the instructor. Several years pass and life keeps moving them along. Alicia moved back to the Seattle region to be with her mother and Kayla stayed in Spokane. Distance did not break these two apart, they continued to talk and support one another through  sad and  happy times. It was not until Spring of 2017 that Kayla and Alicia started visiting each other in hopes to continue building the friendship they started 5 years ago.  Donnie and Kayla were on the west coast for a mini-vacation when Alicia reached out to Kayla. She joined them on a trip to one of Donnie's car shows in Renton, Wa. As a few months pass and summer is coming to an end, Alicia hopped on a bus and made her way to Spokane for a weekend vacation with friends and family.  Kayla asked Alicia to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming wedding. Alicia kindly accepted the offer. Thank you Alicia. You remind us to stay honest and loyal to ourselves; so we can serve others truthfully.
