Once upon a time, in the midst of a world paused by a pandemic, Mike Peterson and Dorine “Tiare” Anthony found love in the unlikeliest of times. It was 2020, a year of uncertainty and isolation, yet their connection found a way to blossom.

Mike, had moved in 2019 from Utah to the sunny shores of California. During the pandemic, both Mike and Tiare spent some time engaging in the many online gatherings and zoom platforms that attempted to unite people when the world was basically shut down. Little did they know that amidst the pixels and prayers, they would find eachother.

Their first encounter in person was a testament to their resilience and creativity. With traditional date venues shuttered, they embraced the unconventional, meeting in a makeshift outdoor dining area—a parking lot adorned with tables, where a sushi restaurant had improvised to serve its patrons safely. Amidst the hum of distant cars, they shared laughter and stories, laying the foundation for a love story unlike any other.

The pandemic, with its hardships and hurdles, gifted them a rare opportunity to spend time together, and to truly understand and cherish one another. As the world slowed down, Mike and Tiare leaned into each other, exploring the depths of their connection through shared experiences, faith and good conversation.

Both Mike and Tiare share common interests such as outdoor nature walks/hikes, movies, and of course sports. Although he is an avid BYU fan and she is an avid USC fan, they have learned to root on one another’s teams. They both enjoy simple pleasures like family, friends, and serving their community through their church callings, and are united in their commitment to Christ and in making a difference.

Surrounded by the love of friends and family, Mike Peterson and Dorine Tiare Anthony embark on their journey towards eternity, and look forward to sealing their bond in the sacred halls of the Los Angeles Temple. With hearts full of love and gratitude, they looked forward to a lifetime of adventures, knowing that their love story was crafted by fate and forged by faith.
