It was NWCYC 2019. Classic. It all started with a photobomb.

After years of birthday wishes and feast greetings, Doris and her family were planning a trip to Banff. Doris pondered if Mina had any ideas for must-do activities in Banff. “I can show you the world...(or at least Banff),” Mina thought. And so he did. That was day 0.

Months passed of our couple getting to know each other virtually, and it was finally time for Mina to visit Winnipeg—purely because it’s a popular tourist destination attracting millions of visitors, of course. There were clearly no other motives.

Now, it was time for Doris to visit Calgary. Again - she was only there for touristic reasons. Among many activities, Mina took Doris to the Alpaca farm. Right then, Doris knew that if she could only find someone who would look at her the same way the alpaca did, he would be the one.

As the visits continued (Mina of course, coincidentally, had rotations in Winnipeg...), the couple discovered activities to enjoy, even in the cold Winnipeg winters. Fun fact: Manitoba is home to the world’s largest snow maze— "A Maze in Corn".

Sometimes, the couple needed to escape the winters by enjoying the indoors. "The Leaf," Winnipeg.

Mina gives Doris chocolate in exchange for her hand in marriage. Doesn't seem like a fair deal to me. But it worked. "Doris" from Greek "Dorotheos" meaning the "God's Gift". She really was Mina's gift.

Proposal day. Spoiler alert, she said "yes".
