About 3 years ago, my friend Luke invited me to go to a worship event at Island Park in Fargo. I made small talk with the people around me, and all of a sudden a beautiful, stunning, vibrant Taylor came walking out of no where and ended up standing near me for worship. I've never been so distracted during worship than I had been in those twenty minutes! As the set came to an end, I was convicted trying to focus on the Lord. Then, when they asked the small group leaders to raise their had and hers went up, I forgot my conviction and RAN over to her group.

I tried my hardest to play it cool and subtly impress her. Let's just say, I can read a room and her's was uninterested. I couldn't take no for an answer, so Luke and I devised a plan to win her over. We decided to go to her Young Adults group and try again. Long story short, I went and tried talking to her a second time, and let's just say the verdict hadn't changed. Uninterested...

Three or so years ago, I was helping host a worship event in the park. After worship, we broke into small groups, and this cute guy showed up in my group and sat down right next to me. Throughout the evening, he kept telling me about this garden ministry he was running with his dad. I thought to myself "oh shoot, definitely a farmer" and decided he wasn't an option. Later, my friends asked what I thought about him since he was "obviously into me", and we coined him "Farmer Drew". And to be honest, I don't even remember him and Luke showing up to my Young Adults group after that.

We reconnected last summer, and I (Taylor) had found out that Drew had moved back from Detroit and was living in Fargo again. He asked me on a date back at Island Park where we first met. I found out that Drew isn't actually a farmer by any standard, and he actually works in corporate. Next thing we know, one date had turned into a few more, and quickly enough cute Farmer Drew from the park became the man I knew I wanted to spend my life with.

I said yes on 4/4/2024 when he asked me to marry him at Island Park in Fargo ND!
