Our Favorite Love Story Drew pursued his college education at the University of Arizona where he graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Communication. After he graduated, he moved back to San Jose to start his career in construction management. Kaylene grew up in San Jose, California and pursued her college education locally at San Jose State University where she graduated with her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in teaching. She then began working as a teacher in the area. In February of 2020, (yes, 2020), Drew and Kaylene swiped right on Hinge! They had a magical first date at Orchard City Kitchen where they had endless conversations over wine and food. But that wasn't enough. Then, they went to Opa where they sat fireside with cocktails and continued getting to know each other. On the drive home, they listened to some of their favorite music and did not want to say goodnight to each other. After this date, both Drew and Kaylene knew that they found someone special. A week after our first date, the Covid shut down happened, I know, what a time to get to know someone! Well, nice dates with dressed up outfits turned into sweatpants and movies! We definitely got to know each other quicker and truly loved this part of our story. We would spend time taking a drive to a new destination and enjoying the outdoors. Quickly after, Drew asked Kaylene to be his girlfriend on March 15, 2020. They spent time trying amazing restaurants, exploring new places on the weekends, going to the cabin, and falling in love. Fast forward to June 2024. This week was quite the week for Drew and Kaylene. Kaylene had accepted a new job in teaching and Drew wanted to plan a celebration dinner. As you know, where they go, the dogs go. Kaylene had the idea of going to Santa Cruz, taking the dogs to the dog beach and going to dinner at Margaritaville after. Well, this plan was perfect for Drew because he wanted to propose at that beach! Great minds think alike! As we were getting ready, Kaylene said, "Wow, it has been quite the week, I just can't wait to relax." Little did she know, a whole surprise was about to happen. Drew and Kaylene got to the beach and were walking to a spot to set down a blanket. Drew immediately said, "Kaylene, let me take your picture with the dogs." Kaylene responded, "I just want to sit down for a little bit." Drew had to get creative because Kaylene was giving him a run for his money. Kaylene then took pictures of him with the dogs and finally he took pictures of her. In the last picture that he took he said, "Now take a picture of this." He pulled the ring box out of his sock and got on his knee. Kaylene was completely shocked and speechless. She screamed, "Yes!" Getting engaged with their fur babies by their side was the most perfect and heartwarming way. Drew had our amazing friends, Kody and Tori, hide out and take pictures of the whole engagement! Another shock for Kaylene! The surprises didn't end there! Kaylene was so excited to go to Margaritaville, but, Drew had something even more special planned. Drew, Kaylene, Kody, and Tori all went to The Crow's Nest to celebrate and their parents surprised them! Kaylene immediately broke into tears because of this sweet surprise! This was one of the best days of our lives! Drew and Kaylene are so excited to get married and start this next chapter together! They can hardly wait to celebrate with their family and friends!

Big Sur is one of our favorite spots! We love packing up the dogs, putting good music on and enjoying the coastal drive! We love to grab a bite to each and a cocktail at Nepenthe and look out into the beautiful California Coast! Pheiffer Beach is also one of our stops too!
