We met through our church at an event our young adult ministry was hosting called the Porch Gala. Drew was hanging out on the dance floor when he noticed Anna.

They exchanged a few glances and just as Drew was about to walk up to her, he noticed a ring on her left hand. His thoughts were: 'Is she married or engaged?'. Luckily, a friend said to him, “I don’t think she’s engaged or married, I think she's single.”

Feeling a bit more confident, Drew watched for an opportunity to talk to Anna. When she stepped away from her friends to grab a drink Drew approached her.

This is how the conversation went:

Drew: “Hi. I wanted to introduce myself because you caught my eye, but I noticed you have a ring on your ring finger. Are you married?”

Anna: “No, I’m not."

Drew: “Well in that case, I’m Drew. What’s your name?”

Anna: “Hi, my names Anna”

We shook hands and then ended up talking for over three hours that night. We shared stories about our lives, realized we grew up on opposite sides of the US, laughed a lot, and by the end of the night, Anna was intrigued by Drews accent and upbringing and Drew couldn't wait to get to know Anna more.

We have been inseparable ever since!
