Hotel Block

We have set aside a room block at the Hampton Inn Bellingham Airport for the dates of Saturday, September 14th through Monday, September 16th under the name "Drew and Caroline Wedding". For your convenience, here's a direct link to book-

However, there are many hotels and AirBnBs in the Fairhaven District closer to the wedding venue if that is more your speed.

Flights and Other Transportation

In terms of flights, most of you will want to fly into SeaTac and commute to Bellingham, though there is Bellingham International Airport if you are able to find an affordable flight directly here.

Bellingham has limited public transportation, so you will likely need to rent a vehicle if you are not driving to Bellingham. It is possible to go without if you are able to rely on Uber/Lyft, as there is an Amtrak line and charter bus shuttle from Seattle to Bellingham.

*Important*- If you are traveling via SeaTac, be sure to use their free SpotSaver service for making a TSA reservation. If you do not have TSA PreCheck, this is the next best thing! It's as simple as making a reservation at a restaurant, and we advise you to make it as early as possible- https://www.portseattle.org/SEAspotsaver

Weather

This past September saw beautiful weather in Bellingham with limited rain. Temperatures are still plenty warm and it is sunny for a majority of the time. In the event of rain during the wedding, Lairmont Manor provides complimentary umbrellas! The reception is under a semi-permanent tent outdoors and the ceremony is also outdoors and uncovered. If needed, propane heaters are available, but it would not be a bad idea to bring a light sweater. While there are some paved areas of the property, much of it will be grass and due to the occasional rain, we would urge you to consider wider heels or flats that will not sink into the lawn and ruin your shoes.

Things To Do

Bellingham may be small, but it has a lot to offer! While in town for the wedding, we would recommend checking out the hiking trails (particularly Whatcom Falls and Teddy Bear Cove) or walking along the waterfront. There are also excellent museums (Mindport Exhibits) and art galleries if you prefer to stay indoors. Being near the water, Bellingham's local cuisine highlights seafood, beer, and cider, and The Black Cat, Hokkai Ramen and Sushi, and Storia Cucina are our favorites.

Venturing outside of Bellingham is a good idea as well, with Bellingham situated in between Vancouver, BC and Seattle. Both cities have a lot to offer, and the San Juan Islands (especially for whale watching), North Cascades National Park, or the many state parks nearby are also great excursions.
