The reception and small ceremony will be on Saturday, August 13 beginning at 6:00pm (18:00) CET. However, we strongly recommend planning to get in to Serbia a few days early. The earlier you get in, the less likely a delayed flight or missed connection could affect your ability to get to the wedding. Whether you are coming in through Belgrade or taking a flight from Malmo or Basel directly to the Nis airport (see our travel and accommodation page for details), we will be happy to know when you arrive in the country! We will be busy getting everything prepared in the days leading up to the 13th, but will have a few contact people in the area for you to get in touch with if you have any questions or need any help getting settled in. Please check back for details. After that, wander around and enjoy Serbia! We will be happy to go out with friends a few nights before the wedding to see the local scene in Nis, or at least point you in the direction of some fun places to go.

This is the perfect time to explore all that Nis has to offer. Check out some local music at an outdoor Biergarten, explore historical sites around the city, or dig into delicious food.

The Nisville International Jazz Festival kicks off on Thursday, August 11 and runs until Sunday, August 14. The concert will feature jazz, funk, soul, world, and pop musicians from around the world. We will most likely be stopping by the concert on Thursday. If you would like to go with us or to check it out on your own either Thursday or Friday, you can get tickets at the door.

We are heaving a rehearsal dinner/a get together at a Serbian Tavern (kafana) at 7:30 pm.
The name and address of the kafana are Nislijska Mehana; 49 PRVOMAJSKA, Nis. Attire is casual.

After dinner, we'll head to the fortress for the Jazz Festival.

We cannot wait for you to join us! Bring an appetite for some traditional Serbian food and drinks. :D

If you are staying at Hotel Svetlost, you will already be at the wedding venue. If not, the guest house/hotel/airbnb where you are staying will call a taxi for you to come join us for the wedding and reception at 6:00 pm (18:00 h). This is the big day! Dress code is Cocktail Attire. Get ready to eat, drink, and dance the night away! Taxis will be able to take those not staying at Svetlost back to their various hotels and guest houses after the party.

Sunday will certainly be a day to recover, but also to sight see.We have a bus reserved to take us to different historical sights in and around Nis (e.g. The Cela Kula, , the old Roman village of Medijana, the spa town of Niska Banja, Cegar) for a few hours after breakfast/recovery from the night before.

In the evening, we will be going to the closing night of the Nisville International Jazz Festival. There will be a number of artists from around the world, including Joss Stone. Tickets are quite inexpensive, and the concert, held every year in the several-hundred-year-old fortress located in the heart of Nis, is always a blast! We would be ecstatic if you could join us. Tickets for Nishville can be found at the door.

Hristina's father invites anyone who is interested to join us for a picnic at his bee house about 30 minutes outside of Nis. Come enjoy food, drinks, and a celebration of Drew's birthday!!! We will provide organized transportation from Nis to the village where the house is and back. Please let us know if you will be joining us.

On June 25, we will be celebrating with a picnic at the Vietnam Veteran's Pavilion in Schenley Park. We have invited friends and family who are already in the Pittsburgh area for this event. We will have barbecue, beer, and wine as well as music, cornhole, and a great space to just relax and have a good time. Dress is casual. If you are currently living in the Pittsburgh area, we look forward to seeing you there. If you are an out-of-towner, then we can't wait to celebrate the big day with you in Serbia!
