Dustin was born and raised in Pennsylvania. His family moved to the Savannah area in 2016. Dru was born in Las Vegas, was an army brat and moved a total of 7 times before settling in Richmond Hill in 2019.

Dru arrived in Richmond Hill on June 9, 2019. Dru had pre-arranged to volunteer at Saint Anne's Vacation Bible School, the very next day. Dustin was also volunteering and was the first person Dru met on June 10th.

Dustin was pretty smitten with Dru from day one. Dru was more of the "hard to get" type. They attended CYM (Catholic Youth Ministry) regularly, went to a couple of high school football games together, flirted constantly, even went out on a date to Culver's for ice cream. Dustin had to ask many times, "what are we?" To which Dru would respond, "friends."
