GETTING THERE

Guests will arrive at Cancun International Airport (CUN) and take a shuttle to Puerto Juarez. The shuttle will take 30-45 minutes from the time you exit the airport with your baggage, depending on traffic. From Puerto Juarez, you will take a stunning 25-minute ferry ride to Isla Mujeres.

Ixchel Beach Hotel

Ixchel is located directly on Playa Norte, one of the best beaches in the world. The hotel is just 70 yards/meters walking down the beach to the wedding venue Mayan Beach Club. The hotel is handicap accessible, and has elevators (not common on Isla Mujeres). You will be charged 50% of the reservation fee at the time of booking and the other 50% will be charged 30 days prior to arrival. When you go to put in your payment method it will say the full amount, but only 50% is charged to your card, and it may take a couple of business days before you see the authorization on your card. They also offer free cancellation as long as it is 31 days prior to arrival, so if plans change you can cancel free of charge. If you use an American Express credit card, they will send you an email towards the end of the month requesting your security code. This is routine and safe. You can email them back or call. The hotel is not all-inclusive. One of the best parts of staying on the island is exploring all of the restaurants and bars. It is also not a resort or large hotel when comparing to hotels you may find in Cancun. Most of the hotels on the island are much smaller and boutique like. The hotel is just 13 minutes walking through the beautiful streets of Isla Mujeres to the wedding venue Mayan Beach Club. This hotel does not have elevators. Where to Stay

Our hotel has free daybeds to enjoy the beach. Playa Norte (North Beach) is considered on of the best beaches in all of Mexico. The soft white sand, palm trees and water so blue the sky looks pale, make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. You can also purchase floaties to use in the ocean. We spend a lot of time right here! It is serviced by the hotel.

The hotel has two pools with restaurant and bar service.

Lounge by the Pool

Bring your snorkel gear to snorkel right off of the beach. There are also rentals and tours available if desired.

Snorkel off the Beach

This is a 4 hour tour. Departing from downtown we go straight to the Lighthouse reef for 45 minutes of snorkeling with the drift. It takes only 5 minutes to get there by boat and we jump in the water following our experienced guide that will show us the best of this beautiful, shallow reef (6 ft deep). We can see lots of colorful fish and many kinds of coral. Then we get back on the boat and sail to the MUSA (Underwater Museum of Art) and Manchones reef that are 30 ft deep. Here we will see even more marine life such as sting rays, turtles, hundreds of fish, lobsters, and more!

Snorkel Tours

These are highly recommended on the island. There are a lot of different tour options. Click the link to read more about them. There are massage tents all along the beach. The bride frequents a tent right outside the hotel. The price is around $55 USD ($1100 pesos) and they do accept credit card, but prefer cash. The Park is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM and offers several activities like zip lining, snorkel equipment, life jackets, kayaks, hammocks, an infinity pool, bathrooms, showers and lockers as well as admission to Punta Sur and the Sculpture Garden.

Ecological park offering beaches, a lighthouse &amp; large sculptures on a path overlooking the ocean.To get to Punta Sur is by taxi or golf cart since it is on the other side of the island.

You Drink, We Drive - Explore the island in search of the best drinks the island offers. Your guide will drive you around in a street-legal golf cart showing you the main sites of the island as well as stopping at some of the best bars, speak-easy, beach bars and a stop at Punta Sur cliffs.

Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres

There is a golf cart rental right outside of our hotel, but there are numerous places to rent golf carts for a few hours, full day or for 24 hours from the time of rental. Most golf carts are about $60 USD ($1200 pesos) a day depending on the season and size of the cart. You can sometimes get a discount if you are renting for multiple days but be prepared to negotiate. You will need to sign a rental agreement before you take possession of the golf cart. Please read it carefully, it is a legally binding agreement. Some renters will want to keep your driver's license for the duration of the rental. No drinking and driving on the golf carts.

Cruise the Island on a Golf Cart

Yoga is offered daily in Isla. Treehouse Yoga, which is about 3 minutes down the beach, offers classes Monday - Saturday at 9:00 AM. It is $10 USD ($200 pesos). They provide yoga mats.

Muelle 7 is a popular spot located about a minute’s walk from the ferry terminal on Isla Mujeres, in the island’s bustling downtown area. It’s a beautiful restaurant, right on the water, with views of Cancun. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! In the day you can enjoy their beach area, cool off in the Caribbean and lounge in one of the hammocks in the sea. CAPRICCI PIZZA & SFIZI

This grocery store is about an 8 minute straight walk down Hidalgo Street from the Ixchel Beach hotel. They have drinks, snacks, and food.
