Q + A

What is the latest I can RSVP by?

Please have all RSVP information sent by August 31st, 2025 to provide the couple ample opportunity to make for the best guest experience. RSVPs sent after 9-12 cannot be guaranteed a seat at the wedding.

How do I RSVP and do I get a +1?

Invitations are in the making and will indicate your additional guest status. If there is a concern regarding how many people you are allowed to bring, please reach out to the couple with your situation, and they will be glad to entertain the conversation about more guests. Keep in mind, weddings are expensive and not all guest requests can be accommodated. Additionally, The Knot offers online RSVP which will significantly assist the couple in planning their day and providing the best guest experience possible. Please use the online RSVP if possible.

What is Business Casual or Semi-formal attire?

Business casual or semi-formal attire can be thought as "formal with one less piece". For men this can mean ditching the tie or keeping the tie and ditching the jacket. For women this means dresses, skirts, or dress pants with a nice blouse. Often it is implied that jeans are not fit for the occasion, unless they are a darker near black tone accompanied by a nice button down. Below are a few reference guides that can provide further direction as to what these terms truly mean. The venue is entirely indoors with AC, so the weather shouldn't be too impactful on the wedding experience. https://www.thestreet.com/lifestyle/what-is-business-casual-14629494 https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-semi-formal

I'm coming from out of town, where is the best place to stay?

Byhalia is a very small town in Northern Mississippi. Due to its size, the nearby lodging does not have the capacity to fill a full wedding guest list. The two nearest cities that will provide ample lodging are Memphis, Tennessee and Oxford, Mississippi. See the "things to do" tab for further details on how to maximize your trip. Group rates for lodging are underway, but cannot be guaranteed at this time.

How can I best support the couple at this time?

The couple can be supported in a variety of ways. Wedding planning and starting life together can be financially demanding, so if you feel called to support the couple financially - please reach out to them individually to see where their needs are. Aside from financial support, the couple would greatly appreciate prayer as they start life together. They are undergoing a significant amount of career and academic change that will come with a high degree of stress. Prayers for academic, career, and establishing life in a Godly way will be highly appreciated.

Will there be alcohol at this wedding?

There will not be alcohol at the wedding. Due to the couple's commitment towards a sober lifestyle, they want to honor themselves as well as the venue by electing to have an alcohol free environment at the wedding. Alcohol will not be permitted at the venue due to insurance and security requirements. Please also refrain from the use of other substances such as tobacco products that would take away from other guests' experiences or cause damage to the facilities.

What time should I show up and when can I leave?

Please show up 30-45 minutes before the ceremony so that you can find your seat, use the restroom, and have your small talk completed prior to the commencement to avoid causing any disruptions. Fortunately the venue is located in a beautiful part of the South where you can appreciate the outdoors and have conversational/catch up space prior to the commencement of the ceremony. You can leave anytime you would like after the ceremony, but are warmly invited to take place in the reception where food and beverages will be offered. The reception is where you will have the opportunity to engage with the couple, who would love to see everyone and thank them for their attendance.

Where do I sit the day of the wedding?

The couple believes that a wedding is a ceremony to unite themselves, but also to unite family and friends. Due to this - there will be no "sides" taken and seating is at free discretion of the guest.

I would like to purchase a wedding gift, what should I do?

The Knot offers a direct link to the registry. It is a work in progress, so might not be currently available. However, any gifting you feel inclined to offer can be mailed directly to the couple. Please reach out to the couple for any further questions. Additionally, if gifting becomes an inconvenience - the couple will gladly take any gift cards, especially towards starting a home together.

Will there be photography at the event and can I take pictures on my phone?

A photographer will be on sight to capture the day and their work will be made visible via social media as well as The Knot. During the ceremony, cell phones will be strictly prohibited as to not disrupt the event and enable the photographer to do their best work. During the reception, phones will be gladly welcomed so that you can capture all the memories. Please share any photos with the couple so that they can share in the memory with you.
