September 9th, 2023. Alyssa was packing for her best friend’s bachelorette weekend, while Dylan was getting ready for his buddy’s bachelor party. By pure luck—or maybe fate—it was a joint trip on Old Hickory Lake. Dylan was on the guys' boat, Alyssa on the girls'. For most of the day, they didn’t cross paths much—until the guys came over to ask if anyone wanted to ride the tube. People started switching seats between boats, and as luck would have it, Alyssa ended up on the boat Dylan stayed on. Apparently, Dylan had already asked about Alyssa, and she had asked about him, too. The interest was mutual from the start—even if not much was said that day, neither of them could stop thinking about the other. Two weeks later, they saw each other again at their friends' wedding. In a moment that felt straight out of a movie, they locked eyes across the room. Alyssa made the first move and walked up to Dylan to start a conversation. A few days later, Dylan messaged Alyssa on Instagram. He said he couldn’t wait for their friends to get back from their honeymoon to ask for her number—so he reached out himself. Not long after, they went on their first date. From the very beginning, it felt right. Like home. Like love. They both knew—this was it. The ProposalMarch 28th, 2025. Dylan told Alyssa he had made dinner reservations at Old Hickory Steakhouse in Nashville and that they needed to leave by 7:00 PM. On the way, he said they had to make a quick stop at his parents’ house to drop off an oil pan—casual, right? Alyssa, watching the clock tick past 6:30 PM, started to get anxious about being late for their reservation. They pulled into his parents' driveway, and Dylan jumped out of the car. Alyssa walked up to the front door, only to realize it was locked. She and Mrs. Kasper walked around to the backyard—and that’s when she saw it. Florals. Candles. A beautiful setup. It took her breath away. There, with her whole family waiting to celebrate, Dylan got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever. After the proposal, they celebrated with a beautiful engagement party surrounded by the people they love most.
