It was both of our first year at Wayne State College. One night in September of 2021, we met at the same small college party. We barely showed any interest in each other. Just the common small talk and a couple of laughs. A couple of days later, Dylan messaged Aubrey on Instagram, asking for her phone number. Aubrey friend zoned him pretty hard for about eight months.

In April of 2022, things began to pick up pretty quickly. We met at Dylan's house with only a couple of other people and we spent the entire night playing Mario Kart and dancing to the typical wedding songs. When Aubrey got home around 4:00 am, she told her roommate, Bailee Zavala, she is starting to fall for Dylan. Bailee knew this was going to happen as she saw the spark long before Aubrey ever did.

We started dating on May 19th, 2022. We went to Lincoln together, and Dylan asked Aubrey in the car ride. The first couple of years together, we spent a lot of time meeting each others families, traveling, and focusing on school and work.

In May of 2024, Aubrey had a job opportunity in Norfolk, and Dylan decided to look for apartments in Norfolk too. He quit his job in Wayne and started working at Frontier Bank in Norfolk while Aubrey was interning at Midwest Bank. This move made it official that we both felt we wanted to be with each other forever. We spent the summer on a trip to Colorado, going to the lake with friends, and attending family weddings.

In November of 2024, we were on our way to Omaha to take pictures for our annual Christmas Card. Little did Aubrey know, Dylan had an entire plan for the proposal. Aubrey was completely shocked and said a total of three words the entire road trip home, and they were, "Oh. My. God.". Dylan surprised Aubrey again later that night with our entire families at the Jug in Wayne. We spent the night celebrating with our closest friends and family. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!
