In July 2012, Megan attended a camp, called Super Summer, in Salina, Kansas with her church from Topeka. Churches from all over Kansas and Nebraska attended the week long event, including Dylan's church from Hutchinson. The two never crossed paths until the last day when campers were filling in the sanctuary for worship. Dylan was friends with a girl sitting by Megan, so he asked if he could join them. Of course they did not turn him down. Before the music began, Dylan introduced himself to Megan and could tell immediately that she was a sweet girl who would be fun to pick on. The two never saw each other as romantic interests, but they exchanged names so they could "friend" each other on facebook. Shortly after departing from camp, they started messaging each other on the social media site until Dylan finally got the nerve to ask for Megan's phone number. Over the next year, they hardly went a day without talking to each other. They shared many similar interests, including their love for God, sports, Chipotle, and games. Although they never saw each other in person since Super Summer, they became best friends. Megan loved Dylan's heart for the Lord, his adventurous spirit, his relaxed disposition, and his ability to always cheer her up after a not so great day. On the other hand, Dylan loved Megan's joyous personality, her unique laugh, her heart for the Lord, and her ability to see the good in all situations. Around September 2013, they decided it was time to meet in person again and possibly discover if their deep friendship could blossom into a relationship. Megan made several trips down to Manhattan, where Dylan was attending school, and Dylan made several trips up to Topeka to see Megan over the next few months. The couple hit it off right away and on January 11th, 2014, Dylan asked Megan to be his girlfriend with a magic trick. The rest is history!
