It all started with a … DM. David was on his way back to Miami. Dylan was on her way back to Israel. He was finishing his second year of law school. She was teaching and coaching lacrosse. Two different people on two different paths. Until one day, when seeing her post that she was out for a quick post-workout dinner, he mustered up the courage to throw out the proverbial, flirtatious question: Where’s my invite? Of course, little did she know this question was well-thought out and planned.
A few days later, that question led to another plan: Seeing each other before they both left Long Island for some time. A partner workout together. A lunch date in Babylon village to follow. An awkward kiss goodbye that would have to last 6 months until Dylan would be back state-side. With all this happening so quickly, he knew he couldn’t lose her. He can’t compete with a Mediterranean man.
So, on December 21, 2020, height of the pandemic, after she had been in Israel for a few weeks at this point, he popped another very planned, very important question ... do you want to be my girlfriend? He hoped he said it a little more eloquently than that. But thankfully, it was a quick yes from her.
Fast forward. July 9, 2023. He had another plan. A very sparkly plan. Pretending family was in town, they were going to have a nice dinner on the water in her home town of Bay Shore, when he decided to ask her another question. A question that would define their lives for, well, forever. He got down on one knee on the docks of Bay Shore Marina and asked if she would marry him. Citing his legal background, he required a verbal “yes.” This yes was even quicker than the last.
Four plus years later. We are so excited for each of you to be a part of our special day. Where she and he. Dylan and David – say “I Do” to the last important question for now. We can’t wait for you to join us.
