Vika and Dylan met and became friends in 2012 while they were both Juniors in High School.


After graduation Dylan left for four years to complete his degree at OSU in Corvallis, while Vika stayed in Portland to work on her degree at PCC and PSU. The two remained friends and stayed in touch while living in different cities.


Dylan graduated in 2018 and moved back to the Portland area to continue his education at PSU. Vika was attending PSU at the time and was happy to have Dylan back in the area. Over the next school year the two started hanging out more on campus and making a point to see each other outside of school as well.


Dylan and Vika officially started dating in March of 2019. They enjoyed going on coffee dates, driving to the beach, and just spending quality time together. Dylan introduced Vika to camping and kayaking, and the two have enjoyed spending many quiet weekends together at the lake.


Over the years, the couple has enjoyed traveling and exploring the US together. Their travels together include going to Las Vegas in 2022, Disneyland in 2022, New York in 2023, and a three week US road-trip in 2024. They hope to continue the adventures in the next few years by going to Costa Rica, taking an Alaskan cruise, and going on a European adventure.


Dylan knew in May of 2022 that Vika was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and picked an official date to propose in September of 2022. He then spent the next year planning an elaborate day of celebrating with friends and loved ones for Vika.


On September 8th, 2023 Vika was treated to a day just for her that included: visiting her dad’s grave and breakfast with her sisters, morning board games in the park with friends from church, lunch near the High School they went to with friends from school, a manicure with family friends, and drinks with another close friend. Vika was given flowers during the day and was dropped off with her bouquet at the end of a gravel path. At the other end, Dylan was waiting with a custom ring made from several family heirlooms. He got down on one knee and asked Vika to marry him. Vika quickly and happily responded yes. Dylan had also planned a surprise engagement party filled with all those Vika had seen throughout the day and other family and friends.


The couple celebrated their new engagement by driving to Utah the next day and spending the weekend exploring Aches National Park in Moab, Utah.


Dylan and Vika are excited to continue to explore and live life together and are so blessed to be spending this special day with all of you.
