Our Wedding

Ed and Samara met on North Avenue Beach in Chicago, IL, on July 2nd, 2022. Samara was laying in the sand, reading a book, when Ed worked up the courage to approach her and strike up a conversation. From that moment on, a spark was lit—what began as a crush soon blossomed into something deeper. As it turned out, they shared mutual friends, and having the support of their closest loved ones confirmed what they already felt: they were a perfect match. Their first date was at Sparrow, a cozy Cuban speakeasy in Chicago, on July 24th, 2022. Since then, Ed and Samara have met each other’s families, traveled together to Hungary, Austria, and Spain, and nurtured their love with intention and joy. When Samara was offered an internship in Michigan, Ed didn’t hesitate—he packed up and moved states with her. On June 8th, 2025, Ed proposed to Samara on the very same lake where they first met. Now, they can't wait to continue building a life and family together, rooted in their shared values of love, compassion, and adventure.

Wedding Party

The dress code for our wedding is Black-Tie/Formal. Think of black-tie/formal guest attire as a fusion between black-tie and formal fashion. You can wear a tuxedo or a floor-length evening gown if you want, but a dark suit with dress pants and nice loafers would be acceptable too. Similarly, a midi cocktail dress would also be appropriate instead of a floor-length gown as attire for the wedding.
