In late August of 2023, fate (with a little help from modern technology), led us to each other. After spending hours texting each other, Matt finally asked Eileen to dinner at Sorrento’s Italian Ristorante. In true Matt and Eileen fashion, we couldn’t stop talking and ended up closing down the restaurant. Time just seemed to fly by as we talked and laughed and discovered how easy it was to be in each other’s company. It was just the beginning of a journey filled with love, laughter, and endless conversation.

As things progressed, it became clear how much we have in common. A deep love of 2000s pop culture and guilty-pleasure music, shared passion for golf, history, and binge-watching TV shows when time allows, and more.

A couple of things helped Matt stand out to Eileen. Matt is probably the only man who could keep up in a debate about Britney and Christina and *NSYNC or BSB – proof that no topic is off-limits and no conversation ever runs dry. Eileen stood out to Matt from the outset with her golfing background and her ability to make a delicious chicken parmesan – proof that there really is someone for everyone.

The relationship has weathered some of life’s ups and downs. From caring for each other through illnesses and a surgery to cheering each other on through demanding work and personal challenges, we’ve proven to be each other’s greatest cheerleaders, supporters, and best friends.

In October 2024, Matt planned a proposal that was thoughtful, sweet, and suited for us – a quiet, meaningful moment at the Olmsted Falls, followed by celebratory ice cream.

It wasn’t just Eileen’s heart that Matt won – Adam and Adrienne have welcomed Matt with open arms. With Matt stepping into the role as their father and becoming a part of the family, Matt and Eileen’s bond only grows stronger.

Together, we’ve built a life full of laughter, adventure, and love. Our journey so far is already full of countless memories and the next chapter promises to bring even more. With every day we continue to grow, dream, and plan for our future – ready for wherever life takes us next.
