Our Wedding Party

MOH Carmen

Carmen and Elaina met in 8th grade at Mount Saint Charles Academy. They quickly bonded over their love for shopping, ice cream and travel. Carmen's house became one of Elaina's favorite spots. High school trips to France and Mexico made for awesome stories! Although in different cities for college, they studied abroad in Barcelona during Junior year, and were able to travel in Italy together as well. Elaina will never forget dinners with Carmen's Italian relatives! Then, Carmen moved to NY after college. She works her butt off in the business world! She married Joe in 2013. Elaina visited NY often, and eventually landed in the city as well. Elaina is honored to call Carmen her MOH!

Alyson

Alyson and Elaina met in second grade when Alyson's family moved to Rogler Farm Road in Smithfield. The Cunha house quickly became Elaina's second home. Al and Elaina attended R.C. LaPerche Elementary, and played softball together as well. They bonded over their Paula Abdul CD dance choreography (though, only Alyson could bust a move), snow day adventures, dealing with their annoying younger siblings ;-), and running their very own babysitter's club. Alyson's insight and patience with kids served her well, and she went on to become a school psychologist. She married Matt in 2007, and they now have two beautiful children (two of Elaina's favorite kiddos). Though they are not often in the same state, they see each other whenever Elaina is home in Rhody. Elaina is honored to have AlyCat in her wedding party!

Emilie

Emilie and Elaina met on Rogler Farm Road when they were 3 and 4, respectively. They became "First Friends" in no time. They spent many hours building forts and learning how to style hair on Em's mom Darlene's hair dressing school wigs. When they were in elementary school, Emilie moved less than two miles away, but given the "long distance" calling charges, it was near torture on both them and the phone bills! Elaina is credited with teaching Emilie how to blow her nose. One of their most awesome memories was when they went shopping at Lincoln Mall, bought scandalous outfits at Rave, and snuck out to an '"Under 18" club. Though they were in different states for college, they stayed in touch, visited during breaks, and later visited in NY/ lived in the city at the same time. Brilliant Emilie graduated with a PhD and works in the business world. She married Nicole in 2015, and celebrated their marriage within days of the US Supreme Court's repeal of key parts of the Defense of Marriage Act. Elaina is honored to have her FirstFriend in her wedding party!

Katie

KatieB and Elaina met in 2009 while suffering through the pains of their first year of PA school. They quickly bonded over study breaks that included Sweet Green salads, cupcakes and brunching in Georgetown. Katie, the more studious of the two, kept Elaina in check. Elaina was to blame for Katie's accumulation of dresses from the sales rack of Bloomie's. One of Katie and Elaina's greatest memories included a run in with the President and First Lady Obamas' Secret Service- Katie got padded down and Bella the Bunny was almost paw-cuffed. Katie met Sean in DC, and they married on Katie's family's breathtaking apple orchard in 2015. They now reside in Charlotte, where Katie continues her career as a Primary Care PA. Katie and Sean have an adorable baby boy. Elaina is honored to have Katie in her wedding party!

Heather

Heather and Elaina met in Cleveland at a 2012 Super Bowl Party. They then figured out that they resided in the same building in downtown Cleveland, and bonded over their March Baby Birthdays and St Patty's Day fun (Carmen was in town for that crazy day as well)! Heather kept Elaina sane outside of medical life- it's no secret that Elaina was far from content in Ohio, and Heather's friendship made all the difference. They enjoyed girls' nights out at the bar, wkends at WestSide Market and suburban mall shopping adventures. One of their favorite memories includes a 5:30AM treadmill run resulting in a "America's Funniest Home Video" moment, courtesy of Elaina. After watching their relationship bloom, Elaina witnessed Heather marry Mark in 2015. Heather continues to rise in her business world career and is now pursuing her MBA. Elaina is honored to have Heather in her wedding party!
