If you're looking for the juicy details, you've come to the right place.In the spring of 2011, two people in places far away from one another both made a decision to attend Northeastern University. They each decided, independently, to attend a college far away from both of their homes. Neither had any close friends going with them. These decisions mystified their friends and family.Both arrived at the school a week before classes were due to start. During a mandatory (and boring) Honor's Program activity, they found themselves looking for something to do. One looked to his phone. The other looked at what the person next to her was doing. As fate would have it, they were seated next to each other, and after the activity concluded, they began to converse in a friendly manner.Though their conversation would eventually be cut short by previous commitments (and a comical misunderstanding), they would run into each other again later that very same night in the dormitory. Fortuitously, the two had been assigned rooms on the same floor, only three doors away from one another.The two began talking, and one thing lead to another, a phrase which here means "they discovered they had a lot in common and decided to spend lots of time together". Eventually, after a few weeks, they would start dating.Fast forward approximately five and a half years to today, and the two young scientists are still together. Their relationship has survived many tests (they both had a lot of exam-heavy classes), as well as some periods of time spent apart while one or the other was traveling around Europe. And they are in love and have decided to get married.Here's the twist: I've actually been talking about us this whole time. This is about Elaine and Stefan, the people who the website is named after. I bet you weren't expecting that.

Flights and Airports

There are three main airports that we would recommend looking for flights into: San Francisco, Oakland, and Santa Rosa.The Santa Rosa Airport is, as the name suggests, in Santa Rosa itself, so travel to your accommodations will be quick. However, it is a very small airport, so it is likely you won't be able to find flights directly into Santa Rosa, though you may be able to connect through Los Angeles.The San Francisco and Oakland Airports are each about an hour and half drive from Santa Rosa. There is a bus that runs from SFO to Santa Rosa; the details and the schedule can be found here: <a href="http://airportexpressinc.com/schedule.php" target="_blank">http://airportexpressinc.com/schedule.php</a>. If you plan on doing some sightseeing while you're in California, it may be easier to rent a car from the start and drive to Santa Rosa instead.We recommend using sites like Kayak to search for the best flight options.

There is no parking at the venue itself; we have hired a shuttle service to bring people in for the ceremony and reception. The shuttles will be picking up from the parking lot of the Scottish Rite Temple, located at 600 Acacia Ln. Please arrive at this parking lot at 3:30 so we can get everyone over to the venue and begin the ceremony on time. Anyone driving to this location can park their cars in the parking lot for the duration of the event.

This is our recommended hotel to stay at, especially for anyone interested in exploring some of Santa Rosa while in the area. It has a great location near downtown Santa Rosa and historic Railroad Square, as well as an easily accessible creek path for anyone interested in running or jogging. The accommodations are nice, and there is a restaurant there as well.

The Sandman Inn is another option in town. It will likely be a little less expensive than the Hyatt, but has fewer accommodations.

The Hillside Inn would be our recommendation for those looking for less expensive accommodations. It also has a restaurant that serves an excellent brunch.

We would also recommend looking on Airbnb for possible available lodging, as you can frequently find cheaper rates than hotels which also give you the ability to cook for yourself while you're staying in Santa Rosa.

Sonoma and Napa Counties are world-famous for their wineries. There are many excellent places to visit and experience both delicious wines and beautiful scenery.

Santa Rosa is home to several regional and state parks with many gorgeous hiking trails. Annadel and Sugarloaf State Parks are both easily accessible and feature hikes of varying difficulty.

Santa Rosa is also within driving distance of several beaches along Bodega Bay.
