How do we RSVP?

On the RSVP tab of this website! Follow the instructions there to RSVP for you and the other members of party on your invitation. Please don't add anyone to your group that wasn't invited.

When should we RSVP by?

Please RSVP as soon as possible! The last date we can take RSVPs is May 4, 2022 so that we can give the venue a final headcount.

Do we really need to RSVP?

Yes! Roaring Camp needs a headcount a month in advance to know how many chairs to have for the event and how much food to cook. If you come without RSVPing, you will be very hungry and your feet will hurt.

What's the dress code?

Spring semi-formal! Think of colorful and floral attire for going to a nice tea party or an Easter Sunday. However, please keep in mind that the wedding ceremony will be on a grass lawn and that pathways are dirt, so please choose your shoes accordingly! Heels are discouraged for the terrain. The barn doors for the reception hall will be open the entirety of the reception due to Roaring Camp’s precautions around Covid. Please bring layers!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The wedding is planned to be outdoors at the schoolhouse lawn. The reception will be indoors at Bret Harte Hall with some outdoors activities, including cornhole during the day and a fire pit in the evening.

What will the weather be like?

While we can't say for sure, it can get very warm and sunny during the day and will likely get colder at night. We recommend layers. There is always the possibility of rain in the mountains, but thankfully we can easily adapt our wedding indoors if it is too heavy.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where should we stay?

We are not planning on creating a hotel block for guests. We have provided a list of recommended lodging on the travel section of our website and also recommend looking into Airbnb options.

What time should we arrive?

Please arrive by at least 3:30pm so that we will be able to start the wedding at 4pm sharp. However, you can feel free to arrive when Roaring Camp opens at 9am so you can explore everything it has to offer and maybe even catch a train ride!

How should we get there?

By car! When you arrive, please tell the parking attendant that you are here for our wedding and you will be allowed to park for free! However, there is not reserved parking and the venue will still be open to the public, so we recommend carpooling with friends and family members. Lyft and Uber is also available if you are lodging nearby. If you are not staying nearby, be advised that Highway 17 is very windy and prone to traffic, so please plan accordingly.

Will we get to ride a train at the wedding?

Unfortunately, our wedding and reception will not include a train ride. However, you are free to come early and buy a ticket for one of their earlier train rides. Information about Roaring Camp's train rides can be found at www.roaringcamp.com

What happens after the wedding?

The wedding party and family members will be taking photos for about an hour. Guests will be directed to the reception hall across the lawn where they can enjoy appetizers and games!

What sort of entertainment should we expect?

In addition to the previously mentioned cornhole outside, there will be music to dance to inside and a table of board games to borrow. There may also be other geeky surprises and updates, so come ready for fun!

Will there be dinner?

Yes, dinner will be served buffet style at 5:45p. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know ahead of time so we may accommodate you.

What is the drink situation?

Roaring Camp strictly prohibits hard alcohol on property, so the bar will be wine, beer, and hard cider only. There will also be a table with water, lemonade, and iced tea. Coffee and tea will be available after dinner. All drinks are free.

Can we take photos and post them online?

Our wedding ceremony will be unplugged, but before and after, go wild! We do request that we get tagged in any Facebook posts and that the hashtag #janora2022 is used on all other social media sites so we can enjoy your photos easily!

None of these are my question, how can I reach out to ask you?

Feel free to email us at our shared account janorachorp@gmail.com and we'll do our best to answer!

What COVID-19 precautions will be taken?

We will be following the rules of Roaring Camp, who follow all local and state protocols. This, of course, is subject to change as the conditions of the pandemic change over the months before the wedding. Depending on how the situation is as the date grows closer, we may also decide to add more restrictions to protect our more at-risk family and friends.
