What are the wedding details?

We are getting married on August 31, 2024 at Merrie Mill Farm and Vineyard. The ceremony will begin at 5:00, immediately followed by a Cocktail Hour. Our reception will commence after the cocktail hour and will end at 11 PM.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Our wedding ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM. Please arrive approximately 15 to 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony to grab a seat.

What is the expected attire for the event?

Wedding Attire is Formal/Elevated Cocktail: For men, suit or sports coat, dress shirt, tie, and slacks. For women, dresses (midi, or maxi). Thank you for asking! *Note: For our out of town guests who are attending the Welcome Party, the attire is "Dressy Casual" (i.e., Men -- pants and a golf polo or a button down; Women -- Sundresses or something similar)

Will transportation be provided?

Yes! We want everyone to get to and from our wedding safely. The busses will depart from the Home2Suites Hotel and the Quirk hotel at 4:00 PM. If you are staying at an Airbnb, please plan to be at the Quirk Hotel before 4:00 PM. For those who arrived at Merrie Mill via the bus, busses will depart Merrie Mill at 11:00 PM and bring you back to where you were picked up.

Is there parking on site?

Yes. There is ample parking for our guests who choose to drive to Merrie Mill Farm.

Will there be food and drinks at your wedding?

It wouldn't be a wedding without amazing food and plenty of beverages. At the conclusion of our wedding ceremony our guests will move from the vineyard, where our ceremony will take place, to the Merrie Mill tasting room and patio. There, a host of Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Additionally, a full service open bar will be made available to all of our guests. The bar will include a selection of Merrie Mill wines, a fully-stocked bar, and non-alcoholic beverages. At the conclusion of the cocktail hour, our guests will then move to the reception tent located on riding paddock. Here we will enjoy a sit-down meal and deserts as well as an evening of fun and dancing. The full-service open bar will be available all evening.

Do you have any recommendations for where to eat, points of interest or things to do?

Yes! There is plenty to do in Charlottesville. We recommend visiting the ‘Things to Do’ page of our wedding website, where we’ve compiled all of our favorite local hot spots and things to do in the area. You will find places to eat and fun things to do before and after the wedding.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony will be taking place alongside the Merrie Mill vineyard. We will be hosting our cocktail hour in the Merrie Mill tasting room and patio. Our reception will take place on the riding paddock under a covered tent.

Can we bring a "plus 1" (guest or significant other)?

Unfortunately, we are only going to be able to accommodate those guests who we have specifically invited to our wedding and included on the wedding invitation you received.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
