During the summer before my third year of vet school, I did a surgical internship at Rascal Unit, where Jeremy worked. On my first day, I was greeted by Jeremy and his signature, “Oh, hello!” I had seen him before and had very limited interactions with him, but I was familiar with who he was. Still, something about that particular interaction was unlike any before. Instantly, my gut knew that he would end up meaning a great deal to me. As he taught me how to do surgery—and as I panicked over every small skin bleeder—we began to learn more about each other. He handled all of my questions, concerns, and exaggerated problems with grace, patience, and humor. I quickly found myself signing up for Rascal on the days he was working, thinking about him after hours, and brainstorming ways to spend more time with him. I soon discovered his love for pickleball and casually slipped in the newly developed idea that “I’ve been wanting to learn!” We spent the rest of the summer playing pickleball with friends, grabbing food afterward, and picking up extra shifts at Rascal. I told a few close friends about my interest in Jeremy and asked them to pray over my conversations with him and for discernment about whether or not to pursue a relationship. The following day, Jeremy invited me to play pickleball, and between games, a conversation opened up about our faith. We spent the entire afternoon discussing our love for the Lord, destroying undergrad students at pickleball, and ranking our favorite movies. At the time, my favorite movie was 8 Mile (my favorite movie is always just the most recent one I’ve seen). Jeremy had never seen it, so— not wanting to say goodbye—I suggested we watch it together. He ended the night by asking me to dinner the following weekend. Before meeting Jeremy, my standards were ridiculously high. Friends, family, and coworkers would often laugh with me about how particular I was. I’d been told a time or two that “something will have to give,” or “no man will check every box,” or “those things become less important when you meet the one!” But I knew what I had spent years of my life praying for: that my husband would be a man after God’s own heart, and that he would have a soft heart toward the Lord, toward me, and toward animals. And along came Jeremy—a check for every box. A soft heart toward the Lord, me, and animals. Jeremy pursued me with so much intention, and with a wickedly gentle spirit. He is a phenomenal leader, a patient teacher, a gentle voice, and a calming presence. We are so lucky to share a passion for Christ, His people, and His animals. I am beyond excited to marry Jeremy, and I can’t wait to spend all my days continuing to brainstorm ways to spend more time with him.

I never imagined I’d be lucky enough to marry someone as incredible as Elianna. It all started at the Rascal Unit, where I had been working since the beginning of vet school. Other students came and went, and I loved being part of the process — teaching surgeries and working together. The summer before third year, a bunch of my classmates joined the mentorship program, which gave me great opportunities to connect with people I hadn’t really gotten to know before. June 12th felt like any other travel day. I rode out to the shelter in the Rascal truck and started setting up for surgeries — same old routine. I knew two of my classmates were meeting us there: Emma, someone I’d worked with before, and a friend she was bringing along named Elianna. I knew of Elianna, but we’d never talked. I was adjusting the oxygen machine when they walked in. I looked up — and there she was. Elianna stood in the doorway, and I saw something I’ll never forget: those beautiful green eyes, looking right at me, with the sweetest little smile. Something about her just felt special. The rest of the day, I got to teach her surgeries and learn a bit about who she was. She was kind, funny, easy to talk to — it all felt effortless. As the summer went on, I’d check the daily schedule, hoping she’d be working with me again. I just really liked being around her. One day, we were working in Dublin when Elianna passed out! I was so worried and kept checking on her the rest of the day. But Elianna was a champ — she bounced back and kept going. That evening, we grabbed dinner at Moe’s after a long day’s work with our friend Shawn. We talked for hours. At one point, Elianna started sharing what she wanted in a boyfriend or husband — she was actually going on a date the next day (praise the Lord that didn’t work out!). But as she spoke, I kept thinking, That’s a role I would love to fill. It surprised me! I hadn’t expected to feel that way — especially not after the difficult year I’d had. I didn’t know if I wanted to date anyone, especially not someone in my vet class. So, I turned to prayer. I asked God for clarity, for peace, and for the courage to move forward if this was the right path. Not long after that, Elianna asked Shawn and I if we wanted to play pickleball. She wanted to learn, and of course, I saw this as the perfect chance to casually show off my elite pickleball skills. It was also a great way to spend time together, introduce each other to our friends, and see what this could become. Being with her just felt so easy. So fun. So right.I remember telling my friend Adam that I was going to watch a movie with “Ellie,” and he looked at me and said, “Man, you’ve been hanging out with this Ellie girl a lot. Anything going on there?” I laughed it off and said, “Nah, we’re just good friends…” But inside, I knew there was more.When Elianna went on a family trip, I played pickleball with my friend Sophia, and she asked the same question. That’s when I realized it wasn’t just obvious to me — I really missed her. When she got back, we played pickleball, and afterward, she mentioned she wanted me to watch 8 Mile since I’d never seen it. I took the opportunity to ask if she wanted me to bring dinner and watch it together at her place (she says she invited me, but it was definitely my invitation). I picked up food and drove over, feeling nervous but excited. I prayed on the way for a fun evening — and a sign from God that this was more than friendship. We ate, watched the movie, and ended up talking for a long time. As we talked, I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I wanted to kiss her. I’m not exactly known for smooth moves, so it took me a while (she loves to tell everyone - 4 hours) to work up the nerve. But the feeling was clear: this is someone I want in my life. I finally kissed her and asked if she wanted to go out to dinner that weekend. She said yes. And everything since then has been nothing short of magical. Elianna is such a beautiful person, inside and out. I love her passion for the Lord, her joyful spirit, and how she lights up every room simply by being in it. I’m constantly impressed by her — by her strength, her honesty, her kindness. She’s the kind of person who is always authentically herself, no matter who she’s with. I know I can count on her to cheer me on when I need it most, to make me laugh on hard days, and to remind me of God’s goodness through every season. I will never be able to thank the Lord enough for bringing Elianna into my life when He did. I am so proud and honored to soon call her my wife.

If you know the bride, you know her love for her sister runs deep. Growing up in a military family, Ava and Ellie will often describe the other person as their constant companion. Through every move, every car ride, every hotel stay, every goodbye, and every hello, home was defined by the presence of the other person. Throughout their childhood, their favorite activities were building outdoor forts, playing mermaids in pools and oceans, and putting on fashion shows for their parents. Enjoy their last fashion show as Brookhouse's.

Ellie met Jodi in vet school and they became fast friends. They bonded over their obsession of their own dogs, love for reading, chipotle, and movies, and their desire to be at home....with their dogs. If they're not together, they're on face time, in competition for the biggest chatterbox.

Ginny & Ellie worked their first animal hospital job together before undergrad. They became closer as they attended NCSU together, and inseparable after living together in college. Through the years, Ellie has looked up to Ginny in many ways. She admires her faith and her perspective of life. Ginny has played a huge role in making Ellie who she is today!

Moving to Ohio, Ellie prayed for a roommate, and a friend, She got both in Katie! Katie and Ellie have battled the challenges of vet school, supported each other through big life events, and laughed their way around bad luck, all with a brie wheel in the oven and a glass of Pinot Noir in hand.

Ellie met Maria soon after she started dating Jeremy. Maria was instantly warm, and inviting to make Ellie feel welcome to the family. She and Ellie enjoy wine tasting, harry potter, and hanging out with Paul (Marias son). Ellie is so blessed to gain such a wonderful sister in the process of marrying her best friend!

Adam and Jeremy first met in 2016 and quickly bonded over their shared love of sports. Unfortunately, Adam insists on cheering for a certain lesser NFL franchise (the Browns) while Jeremy wisely supports the far superior Steelers. Despite this tragic flaw, their friendship has only grown stronger.

They share a passion for discussing their sports bets with the intensity of high-stakes gamblers even though the “big money” in play is usually just a single dollar. Beyond talking sports, Adam and Jeremy enjoy playing golf, taking trips together, and watching Adam work his magic for uncovering unbeatable food deals. 
Jeremy is deeply grateful for Adam’s friendship and can never thank him enough for the love and support he’s shown. Adam is not only a loyal friend, but also a great example of what it means to be an amazing husband and now a devoted father.

Travis is one of Jeremy's oldest friends. The two go way back to middle school days where Travis decided to kick out the legs of a chair that Jeremy was leaning back in, leading to a lifelong friendship. Growing up, they spent countless hours at each other’s houses, battling it out in basketball games or basement football, where (mostly) only minor injuries occurred. They quickly became a part of each others families. 
Though they haven’t lived in the same place since high school, they’ve always made the effort to catch up and visit whenever they can. Their texting game really heats up during football season, as they negotiate fantasy football trades with the intensity of NFL general managers. 
Jeremy is honored to have Travis by his side on his wedding day and looks forward to a lifetime of friendship, visits, and fantasy football trades.

Jeremy first met Rick back in fourth grade when they played for the lime-green Tipp City rec soccer team—a squad so legendary, some say they never won a single game that year (but they had fun). Their friendship really took off when they lived together in college on Waldeck Ave with three other friends.
Many nights were spent crowded in the living room, watching TV or cycling through endless games of Madden, 2K, or if it was a "GTA kind of night", while Rick jammed out to “King Kunta.” Somewhere between the late-night gaming and laughter, Rick became the kind of friend Jeremy could count on, the one you can sit with for hours talking about life.
Jeremy loves catching up with Rick and hearing about his adventures across the country. The biggest highlight was when Jeremy got to visit Rick in California and he took him backpacking for the first time climbing the beautiful mountains of Yosemite. 
Even now, they often catch up on the phone, breaking down everything going on in their lives. Jeremy is thrilled to have Rick by his side for his biggest adventure yet in marrying Elianna.

For those of you that know Doug, you know that he is the life of the party. And for those of you that don't, you will soon find out. Doug and Jeremy have also been friends since their high school days. They share many memories together of crazy times at band camp or battling it out in pickup basketball games. These days, you’ll often find them watching sports or hitting the golf course together. Doug is always the first to crack a joke or come up with a game to spark some friendly competition. He is also the league commissioner of the best fantasy football league in America that Jeremy is lucky to be a part of (even though he came in last and had to eat 18 coneys). Which brings us to another thing that Jeremy and Doug have in common; their love for Skyline Chili. 
Doug has always been a great hype man for Jeremy and is always there to pump him up for life's big moments. Jeremy will be grateful to have Doug by his side, getting hyped, during his life's most exciting moment. Jeremy has no doubt that Doug will be leading the charge for busting a move on the dance floor at the wedding.

Jeremy considers himself lucky to have scored a brother-in-law like DJ (but don't tell him). DJ officially joined the family in 2017 when he married Jeremy’s sister, Maria, and the laughter hasn’t stopped since.

They bond over sports, movies, and TV shows, and DJ is Jeremy’s go-to guy for all things superhero-related. One of Jeremy’s favorite things about their friendship is the unspoken humor. They can be at a family dinner, catch each other’s eye, and instantly crack up knowing they both had the same joke in mind... even if it's better left unsaid.

Over the years, DJ has been there for Jeremy through tough times, always ready to listen and offer advice. He’s also a dedicated, hard-working father to Jeremy’s nephew, Paul. To Jeremy, DJ is far more than an in-law, he’s family, and someone he’s proud to call a friend.

Paul is Ellie and Jeremy's first nephew. Paul is trained so that when asked who his favorite is between Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Ellie, he will always answer Uncle Jeremy. Ellie and Paul have an agreement that it is okay to tell everyone Uncle Jeremy is his favorite, because everyone already knows its Ellie, and Uncle Jeremys feelings will be hurt if he finds out!

The Sullivan family is dear to the hearts of the bride and groom in ways that words cannot do justice. She is a bundle of all the best pieces of her parents, and has been a marker of joy for Ellie and Jeremy since the start of their relationship. She is currently learning to walk, talk, and toss flower petals!

Airports: The nearest airport is the Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY). It is 20 minutes from our venue. While most convenient, it may result in the need for connecting flights. Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is approximately 1.5 hours from our venue and surrounding area. It may have more direct flight options than Fayetteville. Another option is the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT). It is approximately 2.5 hours from our venue.
