Elisa Corsini was born in São Paulo, Brazil, to Alberto Corsini and Izabel Mansano. Elisa moved to the United States in 1988. In 1997, Elisa was hired by Continental Airlines.

Jay was born in El Paso, Texas, to Max and Winona Meinen and grew up in Grandview. In 1977, Jay and his family moved to Honolulu, where he learned to fly. In 1984, he was hired by Continental Airlines.

Their story truly began in 2005, when Jay started flying the 757 and 767, which gave him the opportunity to fly to Brazil. At some point, Jay and Elisa met and began a professional relationship, which later grew into a friendship, although it remained platonic for many years.

In 2022, after finding himself single again, Jay made the bold move to ask Elisa out.

They enjoy flying together and have enjoyed traveling to exotic locations. They have had fish and chips in London, sushi in Japan, feijoada in Brazil and Argentinian steak in Buenos Aires.

In February 2024, Jay somehow convinced Elisa to fulfill a lifelong dream of his to visit the continent of Antarctica. Unbeknownst to Elisa, Jay had bigger plans. On a sheet of sea ice in Antarctica, Jay proposed to Elisa. Thankfully she said yes so she didn't have to stay in Antarctica with the penguins.

That summer, they purchased their dream home together. They're excited to their happiness with family and friends as they get married in April.
