Our Story

How We Met

Elisa

I have the worst memory, so I don’t remember the timeline of events, but the first memory I have of Harry was at the end of the year in high school. I was standing outside talking to a friend, and for some reason, Harry came over to sign my yearbook in German. To this day, I have no idea what he said. At that point I had already known Harry, but I’m not sure how. Though, I do remember why we started talking. After my dad had taken my family to our first hockey game, the Seattle Thunderbirds, I fell in love with the sport and decided to reach out to Harry because he was a goalie. From that point on we quickly became best friends for 6 years.

Back in high school I never really knew Elisa, but I remember initially that she had reached out about hockey related topics and had talked about things relating to goalies…. Of course. And as time went on we got closer with having more deeper connections being able to talk to each other more closely and having a lot of more common interests between one another. After some time, we became closer and started hanging out.

How we Become a Couple

Elisa

During my summer break after my freshman year of college, Harry and I had been hanging out more. While I had already enjoyed talking to Harry, being with him in person was different. I couldn't explain it, but it felt so natural, our personalities got along so well together. The little moments we spent together meant the world to me. Even though I was in college, and he was moving around for hockey, we still had strong friendship and made time for each other. I started to realize I had feelings for him, but didn't want to mess up our friendship. I was afraid that if we didn’t work out, it would ruin our friendship. But as summer progressed, I really wanted to give us a shot, yet I didn't want to be the one to bring it up. So, I kept dropping hints or tried to lead the conversation towards us dating. But everything flew over his head and didn't catch the hints, I don't remember if he eventually caught them or if I decided to just bring it up myself. After talking to him and figuring out if we wanted to try at a relationship, Harry left the decision to me and here we are. Long distance wasn’t easy, but we still found ways to spend time together and cherish the time, making it more special for us.

As time went on I really started to enjoy the time I got with Elisa and I really enjoyed the little moments we had together and with me being me I really had no idea what to do about the emotions, but with time we wound up getting into the conversation and we decided to finally take things a step further and became a couple and were officially together, and with that I felt like it gave more freedom to be more expressive with one another and we can finally express our emotions more thoughtfully and clearly without having the issue of worrying if it’s too much as friends or if it might ruin the friendship we had solidified for years. After being together for some time we became all the closer and found more to connect on whether it was just preference of lifestyles or just general preference like food we enjoyed to finding ways to make spending limited time we had together to make it more special and unique.
