Our Wedding

Once upon a time, our love story began when the world was just emerging from the COVID pandemic and slowly returning to normal. Uriel and I went on our first date on July 5th, 2021. We went to a hot pot restaurant. Elisa: I was so nervous and just kept rambling. Uriel was just as nervous. I remember seeing his hand shaking while opening the door for me, and he kept opening doors for me ever since. Four and a half years later, I had many dates, traveled, attended college graduations, and had long-distance relationships. We are getting married!&nbsp; Uriel: I was very excited for our first date, so I wanted to make a good impression. I even changed my shirt three times before leaving the house. I had nothing to worry about. We hit it off. Discussing our hobbies, such as food, and our aspirations to work in the education field, teaching students one day, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Elisa was just as silly and goofy as I was, making it easy to keep the conversation going.&nbsp;

First date

Elisa: As a little girl, I always loved all things Disney, wanting so badly to be a princess like the ones I saw in the movies and find my own Prince Charming. Who is a gentleman who loves me and makes me feel so special. Little did I know, years later, I found my very own Prince Charming.

Uriel: One thing that stood out to me during my relationship with Elisa was our shared value of family. We both have an instinct to lend a helping hand, whether it's at a party or just around the house. I've observed this same trait in Elisa, as she's always ready to assist not only her own family but also mine. It's heartwarming to see how my family embraced Elisa from the start, appreciating her. Elisa’s family also welcomed me into their family after a full interrogation about my intestines.

Family

Uriel: I was invited to join Elisa’s family at the beach. I knew I wanted to propose to Elisa soon and wanted to ask for Elisa’s parents' permission. I was very nervous about finding the right time to ask. Elisa’s parents needed help getting some chairs out of the car, and I knew it was the perfect time. As we were walking back from the car, I stopped them and asked if I could marry Elisa. Her mom was very excited and asked when I would be proposing, as Elisa’s dad said he can see how happy we are together. They gave me their permission and I feel great. Now I have to plan how to propose.

Asking permission 

Elisa: A week before our engagement, I had my students draw what I should be for Halloween, and one of my students drew me in a wedding dress and said I should be married. I felt a little called out, wondering if she had spoken to my grandma or something. Little did I know that weekend we were engaged. Ever since, all my students have been obsessed with Uriel and everything related to our wedding. The number of drawings I have from them, and how excited they get to see my wedding dress and pictures of everything. It's been so special to share with them.

Student's prediction!

Elisa: Uriel proposes to the pumpkin patch, which he knows I have to go to every year, especially the corn maze, which is my favorite. Of course, I wasn't using the map in the corn maze like I always do, but rather going off vibes. When he started down a dead end, I was so confused and tried to turn back, thinking, 'No, that's wrong, why are we going that way?' When he turned to me, he got on one knee and proposed to me. It was the fastest 'yes' I've ever said in my life! I could not wait to tell everyone! First, I wanted to share the news with my family and friends!

We are thrilled to share our wedding celebration with all our loved ones. It's going to be a day filled with the vibrant colors and rich traditions of Elisa's Indian and Mexican cultures, as well as Uriel's Mexican heritage. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
