In the fall of 2020, Ben and Liz met while Ben was working for MGH and Liz was nearing the end of her last year of nursing school. After their first date walking around the Middlesex Fells Reservation, they both knew they wanted to see each other again. During their first year together, Ben and Liz enjoyed numerous outdoor adventures. Hiking in Acadia, summiting Mount Washington, and backpacking in Seattle are only a few of the notable escapades. On an average weekday, dog walks and meals made at Melvin street were the typical experiences that led Ben and Liz to become inseparable.
As the relationship moved forward, the couple moved south. A celebration for Liz was in order as she graduated from nursing school and started her first job in North Carolina. While living in NC, they adopted a second dog, Ben became an EMT, AND was accepted into UNC Medical School!
The engagement adventure began when Ben took stealthy steps to plan a proposal on their trip to Norway. On the big day, the couple trekked up one of Norways famous overlooks. Snow began falling on the hike up, reducing visibility, but four miles later, they had reached the top. Ben instructed Liz to pose by the edge for photos. She soaked up the elevated view prior to turning around to see Ben down on one knee. Ben’s first words were: “Should we do the thing?” Liz replied with, “Are you really doing this right now?” Followed by a swift “yes.” Fellow hikers cheered, and the sun made a whimsical appearance from behind the dusky snow clouds.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony and receptions! Cheers!
